This was another "fooled ya" warm May up here. My tomatoes and peppers aren't getting planted until after Memorial Day. I've been burned too many times.

Had one night before last here. Was supposed to be last night also, but we lucked out.

Yeah, feels like winter here today.  Supposed to hit the mid 30's Friday night.

Great

Tried to warn my gf about not planting until the frost free date ( Isnt May 19th the frost free date in OH?), but she was too excited to get our first garden under way. ( She moved in with me in September)

1/2" of snow in the upper peninsula of Mi yesterday, hard freeze last night.  Don't even think about planting until after Memorial Day, and even then....

Frost advisory tonight in NH. We missed the last one so hopefully we will miss this one.... apples trees are all blossoming and frost could kill them.

yep, it's been a bit edgy in Ny too.  Not quite freezing here but close enough.  4/5ths of the garden bed is ready to be planted, still working on the expansion.  Actually the cool weather is nice to go pull stones in compared to the hot and dry we had a for a few weeks.

I'm about ready to keep the chickens outside now.  They're feathered but these cool nights have me second guessing myself.   I've been putting them out in the hutch for a couple weeks during the day and bringing them in to the basement at night.

We were supposed to get one late last week but dodged the bullet. It was the day after I planted 300 strawberry crowns.
It is supposed to be 38 Friday night with light rain. Hopefully NO FROST

I have been itching to get my garden fully planted but held off.  I think Sunday is going to the day.

Yeah, it says 36F for tonight here.  I'm not worried about onions, garlic, horseradish, radishes, shallots or my herbs, but I have 2 hot pepper plants and some soybean (for edemame) in pots.  I may tuck them under the deck next to my aquaponics system.  That should keep the ambient air warmer.  That's 750 gallons at about 61F and that will likely be considerably warmer by the end of the day.

Calling for a low of 37 with a frost advisory here tonight.

I have a small (10' x 15') raised bed garden, and some of the peppers and tomatoes are in (along with lettuce and some herbs). I'm assuming covering the garden with a sheet tonight will be sufficient?

Yea  a sheet should do it

And we'll happily give you a howdy back when it's 110 down your way...

FWIW, I'm in Indiana, nextdoor to Ohio (from the OP) and my Roma's are at about the same point as the ones you've pictured... I should be harvesting some by mid-June...

Hoping for tomorrow if we get some space between the rains.

Well get on it already!!!!

Lol, I know how it goes, life is busy, don't always have time to do it when the weather cooperates, and when you do have time the weather doesn't cooperate... it's always something. Thankfully things just happened to work out well for me this year. I got them in mid-April, we got some pretty nasty frost that killed some off, but I was able to protect some others so they made it... they are now flowering like crazy and I should have a good crop of Romas come July. My early girl and cherry toms should be ready in June. The cherries already have lots of full-size fruits, just waiting for them to ripen now.
