Hello all,

My wife and I are planning to get beds ready this fall for a small garden next year, at least to start.  We have a ton of pinon pine bark from when we cut firewood.  Is there any reason that this would not make a good mulch/organic material for the garden.  We have a very alkaline soil here, and this will be our first experiment with a garden here.  We also have goats, ducks and chickens for possible fertilizer, though I think we need to pile up the goat droppings before winter hits to cool them off, as we feed alfalfa to them.

Thanks,
