THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT When I cut the tops off to get the seeds out the seeds were slimy black/brown in the middle (looking down into the open pepper from top) as if rotted or something got in there. This was the case with about 1/2 of the ones I picked. The others were perfect. The peppers were off the plants about 5 minutes before I started cutting them up for dinner. Not sure of all the ones that were bad where from the same plant or not, i picked off of all four of the plants I have. All were roughly the same level of "ripness" and I could not find anywhere on the peppers where a bug could have gotten in etc. Been real dry here just like everywhere else and I water the garden a couple of times aweek. The batch I picked about 3 weeks ago were all fine. Any idea's? I wish I would have taken a pic. Thanks J- |

Some of mine do it too J. I looked around for a cause last year and didn't find anything definitive. Most common "guess" was too much humidity causing immature seeds to rot. I don't know how accurate that is, seems like some made up chit to me, lol

That stuff just happens from time to time. I have no idea what actually causes it. |
