Hi, can anyone recommend a good, resonably priced solar emergency lantern? Thanks,  Mr G.

For turnkey, people like the LuminAid solar lanterns:

Personally, I'd get a smaller USB solar panel (12w-21w,) a decent quality USB NiMH/li-ion charger and some batteries and/or cells to run with a typical battery powered lantern, like the Fenix CL30, Streamlight Siege, or even a Energizer AA/D lantern that you find at Target and Walmart.

The lumninaid ones are pretty good. I have one it works well and is lite and compact.

Yep, we have 4 or 5 between the house and cabin, they have all be really good. I use one as a nightstand light and it gets about 30 minutes of use a night while I surf before bed. I have never run one down all the way, battery life is fantastic and the new one has a built in battery meter.

I'm partial to the incandescent colored Lux model.
