Just got an email announcing the Grey ghost gear rig light jacket. I cant tell if the material has a thin layer of insulation like a thin fleece. I have a TAD gear stealth jacket that has a light fleece layer that works very well. unfortunately the Stealth jacket does not have pockets for your hands.  I'm thinking this Grey Ghost jacket might fill the gap in my jacket arsenal.  Can anyone weigh in on the quality of Grey Ghost gear and specifically on the material used in the rig light jacket?

wow they are really expensive

I got a nice North face apex bionic in OD green for $45 on sale

I had the condor and it was pretty nice too for around $65 with velcro and lots of pockets. Those in the link are pretty expensive for softshells

they grey ghost one looks like it's unlined too.

you can get military level 4/5 stuff really cheap too that is just as good for around $50-60

Wow. $475 for the Stealth. It better be invisible to NODs for that price!

I have a Stealth hoodie and it is very nice and the best waterproof jacket I own. I'm not going to war or a tactical operator but if I was this would be money well spent. Oh and I didn't spend $475 either

I'm a huge proponent of Arcteryx but the prices here seems a bit excessive

Here are a couple that are probably comparable and still great softshells. I love both of mine,

http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/mens-adze-wind-jacket?p=83390-0-FYF

ETA: It appears to be made by Beyond which is good stuff.

If you're looking for something in this price range, I also recommend

After taking a three day overnight survival class in 55 degree rain, I highly recommend any kind of hard-use 'bugout' softshell to have a hood.

On the high side, your TAD gear and this GGG softshell have that. On the bargain said, look at the Columbia 'Ascender Hooded Softshell' which can normally be found for around $60 shipped.

I got a Marmot jacket on sale for $50 before I went to Afghanistan.  I'm still wearing it today.
