THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I have tons of .50, 20mm and 25mm cans. Most are used for storage in our hot humid garage but I am toying with some more useful ideas.

BOC (Bug out Can)
Battery box
Commuter Case

Anyone have pictures of their ammo can projects?

It's been a LONG time but I saw a sterea built in a FAT 50 once. Speakers on the sides, car stereo wedged in the middle. It was a well done project. Hook it up to a car battery and play!

I have an old Blaupunkt car radio with a CD player sitting in the garage.

There was a guy in the HAM forum who built a really cool emcom box out of one.

I saw a thread of a guy that made one into a small little car camping stove that used charcoal or wood, it was pretty neat.

i made some "bug out ammo cans" out of a few. i don't plan on bugging out, but i figured if i ever did have to leave in a hurry there was no way i could snag all my ammo. the result was 4 ammo cans with nearly identical amounts in each can of the common calibers that i might be leaving with: 5.56, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, 9mm, .45, .22, and 12ga. not alot mind you, but enough so i had something

there's a list in each of the contents also

Makes a great FAK for the house. Kool guys paint red crosses on them. Keeps bandages dry, limits oxygen deterioration. Convienient as hell and easy for someone to find in an emergency.

I have modified a few .50 caliber ammo cans to be lockable. I use one as a tool box when working outside.

I made a grill out of an ammo can. This is her maiden voyage, but the plan is to use it this fall for shore lunch while fishing. I stripped the can to bare metal, and repainted it inside and out. Looks almost original, and functions great. Just a few charcoal briquettes is more than enough to keep it nice and hot.

You can use a pair of 50s as stilts for painting. Just put your feet in the handles.
