The black and decker 2AA at Walmart is decent. 40 lumens of good light. Not terribly robust.
The Fenix E11 is good for the price. I hope I got the model right..... |

I am fond of the energizer 1w LED I picked up at target for around $15.

Streamlight ProTac 2AA is my EDC. Work provides free batteries, so it works out nicely. I also have a discontinued light branded by Sig Sauer that uses 1 AA battery; it's pretty bright (~80 lumens claimed if I remember right) and the battery lasts forever.
One of these days I may try upgrading a mini maglite with a terralux drop in. |

They usually have some 1 AA lights at the checkout at AutoZone. 2 for $4.
PERFECT for keeping in the glove box or virtually anywhere you might need a light or to pass out in emergencies. Bad-ass little pieces and the price is right. |

Didn't see a price. They looked identical to some I have. And yes, amazing light for the price. |

The "Husky" single AA lights that Home Depot occasionally sells are pretty damned good, for the money...
Produce almost as much light as a cheap 2 D cell incandescent flashlight, and will run for 10+ hours on a single alkaline cell. I've bought 'em for as little as 3 bucks for a 2-pack.

while a little more than the cheap lights, i like my streamlight microstream. for around $20 its size and output is pretty good. its a AAA light but is more than enough to nav dark rooms as well as going out for a walk. i keep it clipped in my front pocket for work now that i am working 24's. they also make a larger version that uses 2 AA's and has a LOT more output but is also a lot bigger and a little more money. the fit and finish is excellent as one would expect from a main stream maker.

It isn't the brightest or cheapest AA on the market, but probably the most durable AA flashlight I've ever used.
Pelican Mitylite I've had one for going on 8 years now and was used through one deployment and occasional use since then. Held up nicely. |

I got a 4 pack of AA LED lights at Big Lots of all places for Christmas gifts, and they turned out to be pretty decent lights for $10/4 I went back and bought another 4 pack for myself. Can't have too many lights.
Been favorably inclined to use Panasonic alkaline batteries, seem to have a high performance to cost ratio, if you can find them. |

Some co-workers even had me pick some up for them. I did find a better deal with the "Gun Shack" branded Cree P2 LED flashlight that was featured on Gearhog.com. It is much brighter than the Energizer light, has a high low and strobe setting, and is convertible to take either one CR123 or one AA, which is convenient. Keep an eye on gearhog and if they pop up again I suggest buying as many as they will allow. |

I picked up 16 of those (4 X 4 pack) few years ago from Home Depot for about $1.25 each on clearance. I keep them together with 3 AA batteries each in my hurricane pack. I figured I can give them away to neighbors if electricity goes out. |

I had a bought a bunch of the husky lights a while back. couple of 'em were bad out of the box, so I went back to the store and after finding quite a few similarly defective lights in the process, managed to get squared away. One went bad later on (with little use) on account of a bad switch. Another one's originally supplied battery went bad, so i mixed and matched and got one good light from the two bad ones.
Package specifically says water-resistant, and not water-proof. The batts supplied with these lights are NOT suitable for anything but quick destruction in kids toys. Long story short; OK little lites, pretty bright, buy a bunch, but try 'em out in the store and demand replacements for bad units on the spot. throw the supplied batts away before they damage anything, or use 'em up––won't take long, LOL |

Went to Auto Zone today and pick up a couple of the AA "tactical lights" they had on the counter display. Nice little light for $3.98. Like the side power button. We'll see how it holds up.
