Good to have. If you hands get dirty in the nasty aftermath, having the runs or getting ill will only make it that much tougher!
Small profile and big pay off if you stay healthy |

Waste of space. You already have wipes, which are much more useful. Hand sanitizer is useless on filthy hands, anyway. Get more wipes.

I once had one of those Hormel Compleats microwaveable meals that I didn't have a microwave to cook it in.
So, I took out one of those small aluminum loaf pans and an aluminum cupcake liner from by GHB. Took out the Purel and poured about 1/4in in the muffin liner placed in the center of the loaf pan. Lit that baby up, and it was plenty enough to heat up my meal. Interestingly, the microwave directions indicated "ready in 90 seconds". It only took two minutes to heat it to the point where part of it was boiling. 1.5 minutes vs. 2. Clean-up was a snap (ie actually nothing) because there was nothing but a light film in the muffin liner once the alcohol was gone. PSA, don't use a plastic spoon and leave it resting on the side of the 2nd loaf pan you put your meal in when you do this. Ask me how I know. |

You should read Ferfals book "surviving the economical collapse". He mentions it atleast 3 times in the book. Its good stuff.

It's sort of a 1-trick pony (or 1-1/2 tricks, if you count the fire-starting option).
Ordinary rubbing alcohol will do the same thing, and is also useful for cleaning and sterilizing surfaces, tools, eating utensils, optics, etc. |

Didn't want to risk breaking the bottle and losing it. |

I opened a few the other day and they were completely dried out. |

I have used around 30 so far and all have been in good shape. Still very moist. I do keep a lot in my bag in case I do run into that problem. I may look around for a small bottle of the liquid form though or use an empty purell bottle. |

I suspect the value of using it as a skin sanitizer is far less than claimed, but it probably has some marginal benefit if you have the space for it.
