It's good to see you again, man. I fired up mine last weekend, need to let it run dry tomorrow before the carb gums up.

Plus, a can of starting fluid can get you past the endless pulling in an emergency. |

Ran it dry today, ready to be put up.

Unless something is damaged, unlikely if careful, I never bought a carb kit when I was having to clean Honda carbs all the time.

Also, many times we've used a propane torch, pulled the air cleaner cover, and injected the gas into the filter. Works fine, and the Champion we got for the container a few years ago now has a port in the air cleaner cover to inject propane or ether. Haven't had to use it, except once when it was very cold outside in the mtns. |

I wonder if they are having supply issues, or if its going to come back as a predator or something else... On sale in store only for ~125. Still a good snag in my opinion. Mine is a couple years old and other than the rubber feet mount wearing out it still works well. I run it every few months and actually use it a few times a year. I just drilled some notches in a board to set its metal feet on and don't worry about the rubber stoppers that wore off.

That little gen will run a 6000 BTU A/C? I would have thought compressor startup would choke it. |

From what I remember, it depended on the AC unit.
Also, to reduce initial starting load it was recommended to have the fan already running before the compressor was turned on. |

Honestly, it's getting hard to justify spending $130, when another $50 gets you a much quieter 4-stroke inverter model.

I don't understand how so little power could be practical, other than for the novelty of seeing what it will and can't run. That chain saw engine has got to be grating to listen to for any length of time. It's cheap, so I guess there's that. At tailgates in my AO, everyone running power seems to use the gas jug small Honda inverters. Of course, those aren't $100.

^They're just about perfect for recharging RV batteries.
They will run a 40-50 amp switching-type battery charger to full output - recharge a couple big deep-cycle RV batteries in no time flat. |

View Quote I have one of these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pulsar-2-300W-Portable-Gas-Powered-Quiet-Inverter-Generator-With-USB-Outlet-Parallel-Capability-Carb-Compliant-G2319N/50855407?from=/search It's not bad for being a cheap China option. Mine did come with a kinked fuel line out of the box that had to be rerouted. I got it in November 2022 for $300 + tax. Current price is $350 and puts it $100 cheaper than the 1400W predator from harbor freight. It still doesn't have the value that the cheap two strokes had when they could be had for less than $100. You can still get the small two stroke generator on eBay for just over $200 but at that price point you are better off with a cheap inverter generator for $350. |

I still have one of those little 2 stroke generators. I purchased it for $79 at HF way back and hardly use it. I gave it to my brother for camping and somehow acquired it back when he downsized. It did power some corded tools fairly well.

Our little two stroke got stolen in a burglary after I gave it to my FIL after the great 21 freeze. We ended up w/ a pair of inverter gennys that are dual fuel & have only run them on propane, gave one of that model to my brother, and the predecessor dual fuel to my BIL. Need to do the generator cut out next.

Love mine, Still runs like a top. Added fuel filter, replaced plug wire as it eventually dry rotted, Better spark plug, Run it 4-8 times per year. Use t to power my OA vaporizer and run things at the garden.
