Remember, if you use a "used" filter you may have no idea what kind of crap it's been used for in the past.
Probably better to just find a cheap "new" sealed surplus filter. If you're using 40mm NATO types, opt for the C2A1 filter, not the C2. C2's have chromium preset. Google "chromium gas mask filter" or something similar. |

I'd look for a cheap expired filter before sucking on some other dude's hot-breath-soaked filter.

Or find a training adapter like the Israeli m15s had.
Or make one. Aka tuna can threaded adapter to fit 40mm..single hole in tuna can. Bam . Done. |

just break open a new filter. I end up using my mask several times a year for dusty jobs.
they will work for a long time as a particulate filter. |

Are you training for a gas type environment, or are you using the mask so you don't get shot in the face?

Screw on a civilian cartridge and save the good stuff...don't use damaged filters for training.
