I got in touch with my exchange partner and he sent me some great ideas. I got his gift ordered and it should be under his tree by 12/24. I've got another package for him, but I'll have to send it from the post office and I probably won't get there before Saturday.

Hey all,

As it so happened, the major ARFCOM site update happened exactly when our sign-up ended. This has had an interesting effect, and several participants have had difficulty with their IM's, especially those who use mobile devices to surf here. SO...what to do...

1- If you have established 2 way contact (both you and your partner) please post that in the OP. The ones that I already know about are listed below.

2- Due to the site update SNAFU, Cag40Navy and I have decided to extend the contact date until Friday, Dec 9th. If you have still not been able to contact your partner, let me know and we will put contingency plans into effect. You will not be shuffled aside or forgotten about, that's not how Cag & I run this. I already have a few generous people who have offered to double up if necessary .... and if for some reason they can't, I will personally exchange with everybody who can't make contact with their match-up.

3- READ THIS- Don't just try the site IM system... you can also send an email to your partner. Hover over the "user info" tab below their post to see the email link. Remember, return emails will go to the email address you have on file with ARFCOM.

4- If you have ALREADY tried several times to contact your partner with no response as of yet, please shoot me an IM to that effect. (if you and I are already communicating about a no contact issue, you do not need to send me anything unless the situation has changed.)

Protip: Post office apparently doesn't allow you to use duct tape to seal your packages.

Re-mailed out today, with USPS approved tape.

I finally got everything to send off to my partner! He's gonna like it!

Have been stuck at work, so I will send this 2 day priority. (I know it should have shipped today, sorry.)

I haven't heard back from Greg since the initial email; have the organizers heard anything? I just hope everything is ok as he seems like a veteran at these exchanges.

Package finally mailed out this morning and tracking info emailed! Will deliver on Tuesday!

I got a UPS yesterday from Steve and took delivery of the last part of my partners gift, which I shipped out today.

The funniest part, which gettingstarted and I discussed via email is the shell holders weren't part of the gift...but they were.

I was switching ammo from cardboard to ammo cans. So I had a bunch of Styrofoam extras I was going to toss.

I figured the Styrofoam inserts would make good packing material so things wouldn't shift around too much.

Turns out he's a reloader!

motown_steve hooked me up with a personalized Victorinox hunting knife!
