Any idea of the breaking strength of decored 550 cord is?

I have read that it is rated at 200lbs.


But I have broken full 550 cord with 200lbs.

I'm not an expert on 550 but climbing rope strength is all in the "core" so if you remove that you basically just have the stuff that was acting as a protectant for the strength of the rope.

Not surprising, and why it is important to understand the difference
between breaking strength and working strength.  Breaking strength
is truly rated under ideal conditions.  Put a knot in the rope?  Breaks
at lower strength.  And of course shock loads add another level
of problems.

Thanks guys it is going to be used to replace the laces of the the wife's corset so as long as it can handle 100 lbs it should work great.
