I've been wanting to try Fire Clean, but haven't yet. Everything I've seen about it is positive.

I use Rem Oil for the most part. It may not be the boutique brand of the month, but I got several large cans of it for free and I still have a couple of them remaining.

I did try some Italian Gun Grease recently, but I can't say I was impressed. I used some of their carbon remover and lube on my PWS FSC556 YHM suppressor QD mount. It got the carbon off fairly well, but the lube didn't help keep the mount from showing rust within a matter of days.

There was a special on amazon buy one get one or I think it was on their site. It's all I use now.

I've been using Slip2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant for a while now. I also use their EWL grease on the slide rails of my pistols. They also have a 30W version. The basic stuff I've used in electric motor gearboxes and haven't had a gearbox failure since. Slip2000-EWL

Over the course of many years, Trying just about everything.

Never found any lube not capable. Application is important and as pointed out by others

Grease for certain areas light oil for others.

Never leave oil or grease or oil in barrel when firing. No lubes in sub freezing weather.

I use CLP but your easiest answer is the put a dehumidifier rod in the safe.  Some are battery powered and some are electric.  This is the only sure cure for humidity.

I do...  Pb blaster is very similar to wd40 and works very well on firearms.  I use pb blaster more so on my beaters and black powder stuff though...  Its good for re-habbing old firearms that might have some surface rust, really does a good job.  I tend to use rem oil on my nicer weapons.  PB blaster along with some hoppies or rem oil has always worked well for me.

http://www.blastercorp.com/PB_Blaster_FAQS.html

PB was once packaged as "Challenger Weapon Cleaner" and is safe for use on your firearms. It does well at cleaning and imparts a fine petroleum oil to lubricate and protect from corrosion. However, hunters have claimed that deer will smell it "a mile away."

A clean gun is a happy gun & I clean mine almost after every use....  So it never requires much of anything.

I have tried the motor oil and atf mixture but it smells worse the pb blaster!

Eezox is the best light-weight corrosion inhibitor period.

I have also used Birchwood Casey RIG with great results (prior to Eezox).

Take a look at some online reviews/tests.

To put a gun away for an undetermined time I would use a liberal amount of RIG.  For guns in regular rotation and up to several years sitting around I would use Eezox.

Eezox spray works well in my experience.  If you look at the tests that people have done online, it seems to usually have the best corrosion resistance.

There is also a long thread on TOS entitled "Corrosion Testing (New Pics - 5-08-12)" that has some good information.

The guy who conducted that test is the real deal... Very objective and insightful testing.

Some will make fun of me but I really like Supr-Fine Oil. I picked a bottle up  20 years ago at a gun show and it has been my go to oil since then.

As much as I don't like James Yaeger, I took his route. I use a 6$ tub of wheel bearing grease. My guns feel so much slicker. It's not as thick as you would think and it's easy to wipe off. Plus it's really cheap.. I may not have to buy any more.

This is what I've started using for rust prevention.

http://www.wd40specialist.com/products/corrosion-inhibitor/

I was watching various videos where people tested different types of oils for preventing rust.  (I think I started with some videos on TTAG or TFB) This stuff seemed to stand out on top, and I can get it at Walmart.  The slide on my Keltec P11 will rust where it touches my skin, and this stuff seems to keep the rust at bay longer than other stuff (until i get around to duracoating my slide).

Remoil seems more like a cleaner than a lube.  Really really thin, doesn't seem to stick around either.

I just use militec-1 but would use any synthetic motor oil.  Alternatively slip-2000 or Slip EWL.

I've been using CLP and Mobil 1 but got in a bottle of Spike's Tactical/Lucas oil and I'm really liking it.
