This is a list of much used gear during my week with no power in NYC.

Multitool
Flashlights (assorted)
Generator
Gas cans/funnels
Butane stove
Propane BBQ
Lighters
Matches
G19
870 with SF light
4 Bassett hounds
MREs
Cooler
Bottled water and stored water in jugs.
Oil radiator heater

Having this stuff prior to the storm made my life a hell of alot easier. So if you don't have any of this, get it.

You stick them under the covers at night.  They will keep you toasty warm. I do the same with my Dachshunds.  That is what you meant OP, right?  Right?   Ummm....I don't want to know.

We had a couple of cars broken into and a home invasion around the corner. The hounds kept goblins away. I was also walking around with my 870 in my yard at night. I had the gennychained to an iron fence.

Im 95 north of you just in CT. If shit gets too weird let me know. we are G19 and dog friendly lol plus gas is much easier to come by up this way if you need any let me know.

BTW what are you using your portable oil radiator for if you have a generator on hand? Why not hook up your furnace?

Why convert gas to electric and back to heat?  Little buddy heaters work far more efficiently. I think the OP should check them out.

Know this.

Despite being uncomfortable & inconvenienced (to say the least), YOU WERE PREPARED!

You put yourself light years ahead of your neighbors.

Well done.   You have my admiration.

Thank you for the list I'm just getting started in the prep mindset but seeing things you actually used really helps to get a starting point and then go to the bigger less often used things
