Also try check out patriots and survivors Patriots has lots of good info, the religious tone is pretty heavy but i enjoyed both books. These are about the economical crash and Survivors is kinda a sequel. It makes me want to put all my money into .22lr and silver coins.

I mentioned it a couple of posts back, but I really thought Grid Down was excellent; everyone should give that a try also.

I am serious, but I've got a lot of talking to do before she'll even consider it. I think I'm going to offer to read one of her books if she'll read OSA. I'll go from there.

When I married her, she was a liberal; parents attended Democratic National Conventions, cut her older brothers BB gun in two with a hack saw.

Now, she's in some ways more conservative than I am; just have to let her reach her own conclusions by presenting the facts in a non pushy way.

I'll never forget the first time she asked "You've got your gun with don't you?" We were at a pretty scary movie theater and she was concerned for our safety. Same thing with prepping, just have to get her paying attention, especially now that we've got our little boy!

I'm going to IM you her email.

We could cook out burgers one night (would say weekend, but I know your schedule isn't M-F). Our house looks like someone set off a bomb in Toys-R-Us, but we could host. Not sure how central we are to anyone else that might attend.

I'd welcome it if she did but then again we don't have Costco in OK. I did purchase it for myself and also sent a copy to the wife's Kindle. I'm hoping that it might hep open up her mind more to the necessity of being prepared for more than just a few days. I have to encourage her to buy in quantities as it saves time, money & gas.

I came across this thread the other day, and yall made these books sound pretty good. Now i'm not much at all for reading books, but I read a preview of "one second after" and had to download it. I just finished reading it, and wow fantastic book. It realy does make you think. For the past year or so i've been getting into prepping, just to poor to do much, with that said I just started a new job over a week ago and I will definitly be putting money aside for food and medical. I had already thought of doing so but that book does kind of kick start things for me. A wonderful book though, i'm glad yall mentioned it. As sad as some of it was, actualy brought a tear to my eyes a few times. I will have to check out some of the other books mentioned here, thanks for this thread.
