The only reason I mentioned anything here is so you guys realize I am doing what I can, but am no longer associated with the team (so I can't burn you DVDs, for example). Please don't let any statements I have made about my challenges impact your willingness to watch what is hopefully an enjoyable movie! I don't think it's illegal or unethical to purchase an original DVD from someone who received it and wants to sell it. If someone started making and distributing illegal copies, then that's obviously a problem. |

As far as distribution - for those of you that don't follow trends, DVD sales are dropping rapidly. The future of the entertainment world is quickly moving to streaming (VoD via cable, satellite, iTunes, Hulu, Vudu, Netflix, Facebook, etc.). While the big studios may still put DVDs on shelves at WalMart, I never really had any expectation Remnants would get there. I know the guys at AfterLight, though, and have no doubt you will see Remnants on VoD via several channels. Netflix will probably be one of the last places you see it, but it will see broad distribution. Again, hang in there. News is coming. Don't start shooting this project down before it even gets out of the starting gate. I have invested years of my life and huge sums of money because I still believe in the original goal - to introduce normal everyday people to the concept that bad things can and do happen. My goal remains to make people think, anticipate and prepare after being entertained. This movie was never intended to be a big screen blockbuster. It was also never intended to be a prepper's wet dream with massive shootouts, lots of survival training/know-how and technology in place. I still believe the movie hits that target, and will see broad-scale availability. I know it's been a long ride for those of you that have followed this project since 2010. We're close.... |

Good update from BlackFox.......looking forward to seeing it. Was fortunate to do some extras work on it and had a great time and one thing I realized was how slow the wheels can turn at times. Just the process that is in place but as some people have already commented it's worth the wait.

I received my copy in the mail today, and the wife and I just finished watching it.
I thought it was really good, though I think most non rural areas would be fairing far worse after over a month. And the sound was a little off at points. The wife said it was sad and she really didn't like the ending. She did, however, ask me where we were going to store more emergency supplies. |

Today announcement about Remnants:
Greetings Remnants fans! As many of you have already heard Remnants has been purchased and the final phases of the transaction are complete. Remnants was purchased by Reel Equity Funding LLC, an Atlanta based investment group focused on the film and entertainment industry, that specializes in acquiring and improving independent films to help them achieve the broadest possible distribution. While the membership of Reel Equity Funding does include Zeke Flatten (President of Afterlight Pictures), the entity is not owned by or officially associated with Afterlight Pictures. When Remnants is ready for distribution, Afterlight Pictures will be an obvious possibility for distribution but other larger companies will also be explored. In the meantime, our team is a separate entity that will be solely focused on this project for the remainder of this year. Needless to say, all of us on the team are very excited about the purchase and the future of this project.
First and foremost, we would like to congratulate David, Paul, Tim and Travis on the sale of Remnants. Most studies suggest less than 3% of independent films ever gain distribution, and an even smaller percentage see significant proceeds from their work. With their first project, this team has already beaten most odds through the sale of Remnants. While we recognize that all of you are anxious to see Remnants available on store shelves and other distribution channels, most independent films are not ready for commercial distribution after the initial edit is complete. We obviously see tremendous value in the work done to date, which drove our interest in the project. Part of our strategy in the acquisition of Remnants, though, was to take advantage of several opportunities for improvement that will increase the marketability of the movie. Over the next few months we will be reviewing the current edit of the movie to improve the flow, format, audio and story. We feel strongly that these changes will result in a better product, and dramatically increase our opportunity for widespread distribution. Based on our planning to date, we anticipate Remnants will be available for release in late 2012. Lastly, we would like to thank the cast, crew, volunteers and fans for the effort put in to Remnants. We are obviously excited about the results of your hard work, and are committed to gaining the largest distribution and visibility for the project you have all contributed to. Although we have officially taken over the Facebook page and the Remnants online presence, please be aware that much of the work ahead will be behind-the-scenes. While we probably won’t have the frequency of updates that you’re accustomed to, please be assured that work is underway. More news to come of course.... |

Great news for you financially (hope you made something off this), and great news for the audience if they can fix some of the gripes we've had on plot, flow, and especially the audio. |

Watched my copy last night. Haven't watched the extras yet. I thought it was pretty good camera work (soooo glad there wasn't an overdose of ShakyCam™), decent acting, and direction. Dialog sound really, really needs to be redone (again?), though- We had the TV speakers at 40 and the voice boosters on when they're normally at about 12.
The only mistake on camera long enough for me to notice: one of the scenes at the gate, there's a POV shot over the shoulder of some fool holding his AR up by the grip and FUG high like an old grease gun- completely off the shoulder Have fun fixing your broken nose, pal... |

Finally got a chance to see it. I was waiting until I could watch it with a few friends.
It was very thought-provoking among my group of friends, who have recently turned the corner into preparedness. Travis, you did a great job with the weapons, I just wish that more of the footage hadn't been cut. It makes me wonder how different Lights Out will be when it's made into a movie? Stay Safe, AGreyMan |

No spoilers.
Watched Remnants and finished just a minute ago. Travis and Paul, great job. You put me in the shoes of the characters. It was believable how it played out. There were a couple things that I never thought of or considered in a SHTF scenario. The story kept moving and kept me engaged. Great use of the camera work to tell the story; I really liked the scene at the front gate when the camera was craned over the to see the 'outside world.' Vanelle is a stellar actress (and gorgeous). Great use of weaponry. I hope you guys make a nice profit to encourage you to do more projects. Plus, I feel fortunate and proud to have donated a small amount and helped a little. |
