Anyone know where I can get one of these for less than $60? I have a homemade one that goes into the internal threads but they are getting chewed up and hard to thread.

Just wanted to pop in and thank everyone for this thread. The 2 10L jerry cans I picked up as a result of this thread came in handy while I was out of power for 3 days after a recent storm. My wife was able to use them while helping to fill the generators. ARFCOM's suggestions of preparedness items helped keep us pretty comfortable. We had hot water, and cold freezers/refrigerators.

FWIW I have 4 GELG nato cans from jerrycan and they will not take the Wavian nato nozzles. Im pretty bummed about it because those nozzles are awesome on my Wavian nato cans. Haven't really dug into why they won't fit yet or if there is a fix for it.

I've been on the prowl for more of those Midwest (Valpro made) metal gas cans and have struck out for the last few months. Harbor Freight no longer carries them, and my local Tractor Supply stores have been out of stock for a very long time. The price also increased from $45 to $55 per can (according to their websites).

I bought a 4 pack off roverparts of them in olive green and they are superb. I have them filled with ethanol free gas.

Glad I had bought a 4 pack several years ago. Nicer to store at the cabin and stack thab the plastic cans. I just put a magnet on them so I know which order to use then to keep them rotated. Between the generator and wheelers, it's handy to have quite a bit on hand.

From the "if it can go wrong, it will" files: did you know the spark arrestor insert might fall INTO a (Midwest metal) jerry can, and become very difficult to remove?
 The spark arrestor normally has a lip that keeps it fixed at the mouth of the can. That lip didn't work so well for this can. Further, each arrestor has two protrusions on either side which make it really hard to pull the arrestor out of the can, especially when it's upside down. Took me quite a while to finally get it out. Glad it didn't happen while I was filling up at the gas station. Moral of the story: don't push down too hard on the lip of the spark arrestor while trying to remove it.

Are there any nozzles for the scepter MFC that fit into a diesel car? The diesel cars have a fill hole a little larger than gasoline, and it Has to be specifically that larger size for the nozzle to be inserted. The high flow scepter nozzle does not fit the standard diesel (and unlock the fill flap) which I own. Are there any nozzles that fit in a diesel automobile? Also, does anyone know what the actual dimension is of the diesel fill hole? If I know what it is, I might be able to just rig my own with tubing.

I think what I can do to improve upon that is to find the correct OD/ID tubing capable of opening the door on the diesel hole and adhere it over the spout tube as a sleeve so that I would have only one component to deal with |

Atlantic British has Green Wavians for way less than anyone else right now. Same price that they have had the black ones for sale for, about $50/ea. of course, these “aren’t for gas.” Because they don’t have a federally approved gasoline leaking device, but they sale those also.
They did charge shipping, but no tax. Ended up being $62 ea for 2, which is better than the $90 they go for with free shipping |

Slowly working on making our cabin liveable for extended stays. Will be adding more of these shortly to the storage shelf. I've got one that has a finicky locking pin, just need to take the time to bend it a little to get rid of the interference. Otherwise I've been more than happy with them.
