Just bit the bullet and finally bought an EU2000i. FYI Wise said they were on sale for $879.00 no tax/shipping. I will no longer sit through a hurricane season without power .

Any advice on must have accessories that you guys can recommend?

Thanks Paul

Yeah, get a Kill-a-watt meter and wire it inline with the output before any branch points.  You can use it to monitor you total load, voltage, & frequency - all in real time...

The essentials! I sat through Hurricane Rita for two weeks without power. Never again. I just talked the wife unit into buying a second unit so I will be buying the second tomorrow which will definately run everything we need and then some.

I had (2) EU2000i gennys and the Reliance home parallel kit......had an electrician come put in a transfer switch for 8 or 9 circuits in my garage, and ran a plug to my back lanai.......those 2 gennys ran damn near everything in my home(fridge, wine cooler, lights in kitchen, 60in tv, living room fan, bed room fans and lights, and master bath lights....all on at sametime and the gennys pushed it all fine) .........if you want to power just the things mentioned your going to be MORE than ok...and still have power for other things

I also just ordered (2) Honda EU3000i Handis from wise........I have a sickness lol

Does Wise also carry trifuel conversions?  I didn't see them on their web site.

What's a good source for an EU2000i with the trifuel kit pre-installed?

Thanks for the information. If you don't mind how much did you pay for the electrician to put in the transfer switch and were there any permits involved?

Any idea how much load you can run through this thing? Meaning, is it safe to leave plugged in to the main extension cored from my generator so I monitor my draw?

from the manufacturer's specification page:
http://www.p3international.com/products/special/P4400/P4400-CE.html

Specifications:

Model: P4400
Operating Voltage: 115 VAC
Max Voltage: 125 VAC
Max Current: 15 A
Max Power: 1875 VA
Weight: 5 oz.
Dimensions: 5 1/8"H x 2 3/8 "W x 1 5/8 "D

so, the maximum current is 15A, which is the same as a typical household branch circuit (although some branch circuits are 20 A) and is the same as the maximum current available at a standard duplex receptacle (although some duplex receptacles have a single horizontal blade opening and are specified for up to 20 A).

the maximum power is 1875VA = 1875W = 125Vac X 15A.

EXAMPLE:
a Honda EU2000i can produce up to 2000W for short periods of time, and therefore the total power flowing through the Kill-a-Watt could exceed the specified1875W should you have a lot of loads plugged in at one time.

Get a spare spark plug and several spare quarts of oil . In a SHTF situation you don't know how long that thing might have run . 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months , who knows .

Look on page 82 of your Owners Manual. It states " Add enough oil to bring the oil level to the upper limit of the oil filler neck"

Hope this helps. Paul

Its the one the wise sales sold me when I got the new genny. Picked up a few other items like theshop/ tech manual and DC charging cord.... it runs the genny as if the eco throttle is off, but the cable is so much smaller than a battery charger for the cars tool box, who cares if it uses a little extra fuel incase the battery dies when in the back country. There is always a honda out with one of us, usually 3 or more on the big group outtings, hence the manual since no one else had it and it was only 30 or so bucks.

What did they charge for the meter?  Did you buy the bracket from them or ebay?

Bracket from ebay from the link posted by me above, meter from wise, and price I cant remember, think it was 35 or 40. The bracket however will fit many of the time meters. The ebay listing describes it in further detail.
