How has it been holding up for you? The few holsters I've made with it look great...for about a month. Then through hard use they all eventually turn to a scratched brown.

Index Fasteners is due to release their FULLY LICENCED Crye Multicam that is made with the same process their ATACS is made.  It should be a near perfect match to real MC and be much more durable.

Ditto, I have to tape the holster as I make it just to save the finish.

I like the idea of laminating the cordura.

I saw a safariland for sale the other day at the LGS that looked like it was laminated w/ corudra. it was new in bag

So who has done what for carrying 1 extra 1911 mag OWB, possibly horizontal, or low and vertical. Have a bit of a spare tire, and need it low or horizontal to be comfortable. If vertical, I may make it a mag+flashlight holder!

Looking for inspiration (pics please ) before I start cutting Kydex!

They are from Index Fasteners. They have a bunch of colors and are constantly getting more. The only downside of Index is their minimum order. It's not a problem for me, but if all you are ordering is the eyelets you will be SOL. If you need a few eyelets, let me know and I can help you out.

There are blue guns and tools all over my shop. Along with his bikes, fourwheelers, mowers, drags my cat in. Runs out to the back yard as I chase after him. Climbs up on the bench, rolls my chairs all over. Kids goes non-stop from 6am until 11pm with a small nap sometime in around 11am. Work 6 days a week he is with me anytime I'm not at work because of conflicting shifts with the girl friend. Kinda cuts in to my holster production lol.

BTW think I have that same dehumidifier

Had a funky thing happen yesterday with some multicam. It seems to have torn during the molding. I think it was a defective sheet. I did 3 other multicams last night from different sheet and have used a bunch of it in the past. It wasn't worn or scratched. It literally split open into the kydex a smidgen. Thankfully it was on the back side hidden behind the drop hanger and hood. The guy said he didn't care.

Yes. You have to add a channel for it on XDs, Rugers, and other models that have a round indicator.

I think cutting it will just make the loaded chamber indicator hit in a different spot...  I'd heat it up and push it out enough to get it to clear.

Load chamber shouldnt be what stops the pistol. The trigger guard or muzzle should be. just leave t open and it will be okay.

What are you using as your rubber piece on your fasteners on the mag pouches? Some kind of hose?

His looks a little different but I've had great luck with windshield wiper line.  I can remember the diameter but Auto Zone has a couple sizes

Thanks man

A KC Competition Holster for a G34. Futures two adjustment screws for retention. This one is what I call a "closed front" meaning the Kydex runs the length of the slide and helps to protect the rear sights. I've also do a "open front" which the material stops right above the hood of the barrel. I should have took a pic of the back but I use a Tec-Lok for belt attachment.

I would love to see the back if you have a pic.  Or even just a pic of your tek-lok jig.  Thanks!

That is the best pic I have that kinda shows off the jig. I made a T out of some extra wood strips just longer enough to get 5 Chicago screws through. Bladetech only send two screws with a Tek-loc so I added some to it. The thickness of the wood was 1/8"ish thick.

Came upon an interesting local source for super cheap kydex in a weird light grey color.  Made a double mag carrier to try it out.  Kinda like it...
