Yeah it's one of the empty light bodies from Index Fasteners. I'll have to give that little trick a try next time.

Stole some ideas from others here.

Nuosu concealment for Cordura lined holsters.

Modified "wing" from Gun Craft USA.

I used a mouse pad under the Cordura for padding.

Glock 19. Used a G17 mold but cut and sanded the muzzle to make it more rounded and comfortable on the pelvic bone.

Coming along man!
Take a lighter or a torch and hit the edges and it will prevent some fraying. Also put a dab of super glue where it is pulling up.
It will also help with reholstering if you drop the front cut of the mouth of the holster. You don't gain anything with it being cut the same height as the rear, and with the front lower it is easier for the muzzle to hit the rear sweat guard and guide the pistol into the holster.

It's tough with the cordura because if you burn it, it gets scratchy, but you don't want it to fray. Find myself going over it a few times trying to find the balance.

I use Woodweld contact cement so i was able to go back and fix that bottom part.

Left the front long for now. I carry with an empty chamber so i naturally draw straight up to rack. Waiting to see how it goes before trimming.

Thanks for the compliment and tips, overall i was pretty happy with these last few. Finally got a heat gun which made a big difference. I suspect you use one to get some of the detail I've noticed and appreciated on your holsters.

Next up is going to be a one piece holster/mag combo. Needs a new press rig though.

Anyone made one with the surefire xc1 yet?

I've got the light on the way. Interested to see how it's going to come out. It's so small I'm not sure how much blocking I'll have to do. Might see if I'm able to get it done with just the DIYholster rails that I use with my glock/x300 drone, and no additional blocking. What do you guys think?

ETA: probably will do a taco style first.

I am going to make one with the XC1 this week. It looks like it should block with a couple of tongue depressors.

Mine actually came in today, so I went ahead and made up. Ended up using the metal rails from DIY holsters, along with using some 1/4" plywood to fill in around the trigger/trigger guard. Worked really well as the light is so small you don't need too much of a light channel.

I've done a few XC1s. The middle is a G19 and XC1 compared to the TLR-1 on the bottom and G26 with no light on the top. Pretty nice set up.

Well finally broke down and bought some kydex supplies.

Are ya'll just using blue painters tape for masking stuff?

I almost bought "thermoform tape" from knife kits but it looked like overpriced painters tape?

3m blue painters tape is the most common. It's what I use most of the time. Also use artist tape and have seen silver tape (not duck) used because they are a little thicker.

Here is some carbon fiber goodness from yesterday. The appendix rig was my first try at that style. I told myself that I wouldn't do them but finally caved to the multiple requests. Needs a little tweaking but not too bad for a prototype!

Nice. Needs 550 cord lanyard through the eyelets for top piece retention!

Added a little Paracord later on, could also tie the two halves together with it. The top actually stays on pretty well using the rivet as retention point.

I'm an UltiClip dealer. The single hole ones are the orginal. The UltiClip3 in the pictures came out a couple months ago. It's nice having extra mounting holes available to prevent rotation. The drawback is they are a little less flexible for tucking your shirt behind the clip.

Awesome thread!  Read through most of it so far. Started off making various small items: mag holders, trigger guard covers, flashlight holder, knife sheath. Finally got around to making a holster with some holstex I got from KK.

It's an IWB for my G19. Far from perfect and definitely a lot of areas to improve on, but the taco style proved a little more challenging than I thought. Edges are ugly as I shaped it with a dremel (don't have a sander or scroll saw ) and only bothered with deburring. It's for my personal use so I only cared about burrs. Thanks to all those who've contributed their knowledge to this thread. Going to try my hand at an OWB next!

In progress...

I always really liked those postings on etsy of the magnifying glasses with the leather around them so I tried putting my spin on it. This was my very first endeavor with kydex and it shows haha. The strap holder for it was a little later and a few destroyed pieces of kydex later.

Here it is popped out of its holder.

And clearly I have to idea how to get the images to display, just the links.

FYI diy holster has a close out on their FDE OWB loops. $1 a piece. I bought a bunch hoping I can RIT dye them black but if not it's still a good deal.

Ok, first off I have these tools currently:

Flaring Dies and Hand Setter

The problem I'm having is that I'm making holsters/sheaths for Leatherman multitools.  I can not figure out a good way to set the eyelets.

Any suggestions on how to get the eyelets set in such a small space?

Install the eyelets before you bend the sheet. I use the journeyman tool from knifekits. It's well worth it.

You can't see it from the picture I posted, but the eyelets are to secure an overlap of the material to maintain tightness/retention.

Also, I have the journeyman set.

If I was having this problem I would cut a piece of wood to rest the anvil on and slide that into the sheath and shim it up until the eyelet head sticks out of the hole and you can smack it with the setter. But I am new to kydex and that is a lot of tedious work, so this is only my $0.02. I hope it helps!

I was trying to use the knife as the anvil, but I guess it was moving too much.
