Well things changed a bit... Just sprung for 9' 8wt Clearwater rod and BBS reel
 Now I'm just gonna hit up some areas in shore that I can walk to. Any pointers/places you might recommend and fly patterns used would be much appreciated! Heard clouser minnow/deceiver was something that was consistent, guy I talked to used it when he was down there 2 years ago and did really well.

Copper colored clousers.
I walked the back side of Navarre in the ICW, pitched the fly into the sand spots in the turtle grass, let it settle, swim and twitch it out, the specs charge it outta the edges. White and chartreuse also. Navarre is 15 minutes west across east pass and Okaloosa. Man, any were is good down there. Shrimp patterns. |

Do you have a military ID? If so I can recommend some areas accessible from Eglin AFB.

Not military... We went back in September and I got completely skunked. Fished mostly the bay side at White Point (I think that is what it was called). Had to get another permit on top of the three day permit from the AFB. Water was very dark and the biting flies SUCKED! Used different variations of a clouser pattern. Will try again though next time we are down again.
