Anybody got any favorite flies or poppers for bass fishing. I picked up an 8wt tonight and want to try my hand a bass fishing with a fly rod.

Try the smallest "hula-poppers" you can find. There are many other top water variants that come in really small sizes. I fished the Llano river for years doing this and had a ball doing so.

I've used fat deer-hair or cork poppers in various colors. I've had good luck with big white or gray/white Deceivers, like 6" or 8" tied with a stinger hook and fished on a full-sink. Same with a big black leech. At that point, you're closer to spin fishing than fly fishing.
