I have a couple of these installed in-line on my cranking battery running to accessories,
One pole is simply marked 'BAT' and the other is Marked 'AUX'



It has a small button as shown, is it some kind of little circuit breaker?

It's an auto-resetting circuit breaker.

60's-70's technology.

Interesting, yet installed on my 2009 NauticStar.

Is there something new and improved if/when these fail?

ETA: Of course, they could have been installed by the previous owner.

I installed one just recently rigging an electric trolling motor. A must have for proper installation.
