Does anyone else do any cast net fishing?  I think it's my favorite type of fishing. My dad and I went yesterday and I filmed it with my GoPro.  I edited over 2 hours of footage down to a little less than 10 minutes of action.  Let me know what you think!

Which brand net are you using?
 

ETA:  I am headed to Cayo Costa to fish on my paddleboard, I want to cast off of it.

I typically use a net that's made locally, but this trip I used one of those cheapo foreign-made nets because they're softer and a little lighter, which helps me throw it further in clear water.  Unfortunately the locally made nets have quite a long waiting list.

Those are some big ass mullet. I would have been using those for shark bait because I don't eat them. But either way it was cool watching that vid.

My buddy has an 8' and a 12' that we destroyed some schools of mullet with. And we've caught some ballyhoo recently.  I went to a cast net seminar at a local tackle shop, came home, got drunk and ordered a 10' with 1/4" mesh. Only threw it a few times at pilchards and minnows. Caught a foot long barracuda on the first throw lol. Hoping to stock up on ballyhoos for trolling. And I'm hoping to get out there and cast net some shrimp when the wind drops.
