Went fishing out of Steinhatchee yesterday with friends. We endured some rough weather but were rewarded with 322 lbs of fish and had to keep throwing back red grouper since we hit our limit.

I just got back from PINS, and it was a great trip! I don't think I've seen the gulf this clear or calm in a very long time!

Gotta take a beach selfie!

The damn skip jack were in there thick! Fun to catch, but I was ready for table fare critters.

Finally got into some reds. A few slot but mostly bull reds.

Landed a Jack Crevalle too.

Than the Spanish Mackerel came in, and they weren't letting up!.

It was a kick ass trip! Wednesday the wind had died down to nothing and the seas were dead calm.

Went deep sea fishing for the first time last week on vacation.  Caught a tiny mahi and a nice Marlin!  Captain tried to release the Marlin but he said it was too tired and going to drowned, so he brought it on board.

Spent the last week in Key West, and one day fishing out of Cudjoe Key.  Hooked up on 5 lemon sharks.  Pictured is one of the smaller ones (guide said about 120 ponds, and largest was about 170).  Also caught tons of ladyfish and jack crevalle.  My dad and I were doubled up pretty much nonstop.  Heck of a fun day.

I didn't realize you had porgies in Fl. We use them for live bait for big stripers.

Yup, we catch quite a few of them from the pier at work. I let one go before I knew what it was, but the second one got baked with lime juice and butter and seasoning. Mmmmm....

We weren't planning on fishing, but we went scuba diving on the Adolfus Busch wreck and I brought my mini 3-prong pole spear. At about 90' my buddy pointed out a lionfish, and I put metal on his medulla. Didn't get to kill the other 2 lions we saw because I don't have a keeper pipe yet. I got a little nervous during the safety stop since we had seen a pretty decent shark on our way down.

Beautiful reds!

The flounder are hitting great down in Sabine pass right now.
Up in the oyster beds, dragging 3" minnow gulp slow on a 1/2 oz bottom jig.

Thanks!

I have been catching a lot of flounder in the 10-12in range in trinity and east bay and the only keepers have been in west bay for me in the last 2 months. I have a set up to go gig but I just don't think it would be as fun
