Got on a Mahi and a blue line tile today out at about 600 feet. Came to the reef and speared and my buddy got stung by a lionfish so now we're sitting on the couch watching Big Trouble in Littke China drinking beer and eating fried chicken and he has his hand in a bowl of hot water.

Got on another tilefish deep dropping, caught a Monster Bonita on chunk bait over a wreck, my buddy speared a 22" snapper, and finally we trolled a Cero on the way in.

Bonita is now hear by renamed to poor man's ahi. Couldn't tell the difference.

We went out with the dip net the other night and dip netted a few blue crabs by the mud flats/culvert. The shrimp are running too.

Just spent a few days in southern Louisiana kayak fishing. As soon as I got there a cold front pushed in and left us with very little water. We made the best of it though.

Picked up our Federal Snapper in short order opening weekend of the season. Haven't been back out since, weather and seas haven't cooperated.

A little snapper Ceviche on top of blackened snapper, no complaints.

I like the vid man, I really enjoyed it.

Looked like a fun time with the kids, they've got a great dad.

And an honorable mention to the chops/beard combo as well.

Thank you, really glad you enjoyed it!

It really was, didn't mind a bit that I did very little fishing myself. Days like that make it at worthwhile!

Thanks!. I shaved the sides back in early June when I had surgery, so now just waiting on the sides to catch back up to the rest.

This is really a cool thread. Here are my current meager contributions from the Left Coast;

A fat King Salmon I caught my first time out with a late friend, maybe 15 years ago. He was over 40 inches long and 40 pounds. We cut steaks out that would hang off the side of a dinnerplate. You might be able to make out the two tusk marks from a sealion that tried to get him at some point.

This is a Barred Surf Perch my older brother caught in July in front of the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. It is nearly as big as they come, 18" is the state record.

Don't know where I would put the mount. I've been trying for a Blue for years. We were hoping to release it, but it got tail wrapped and died.
I have 2 stripes and at least 30 sails under my belt so far.

One haul of our 5 crab traps from several months ago.  April - June we were catching around 30 per haul, every two to three days.

I freakin love Dungeness crab.

Got a place down here in FL where I can get my fix in grand fashion. When I lived in San Francisco, there was a place on the Wharf where you could get it fresh cooked right off the boats and they'd serve it in good sized cups of just crab meat you could eat while you walked.

Keys vacation week, staying with friends. It feels weird since we consider the Keys home. We struck out Sunday, went again yesterday and the wind was gone. We trolled some of the deeper destroyer wrecks for a few hours then tried bottom fishing the reef, and I jumped in with the speargun. I didn’t see anything worth shooting but can’t complain because of what we had put in the fish box earlier in the day

Alligator Reef feels like my back yard I've spent so much time around it.

I'll be heading back down in a couple of weeks. I may need to make a home down in the middle Keys one of these days.

We lived on Summerland for a few years and we would go straight south offshore from there so American Shoal light is like our steering point to go home. One of these days we’ll kick the renters out of the house and live there full time.

We were around Maryland/Washerwoman yesterday, but that wahoo was in about 300’ near the Fred T Berry

Dang, yesterday was a tough day halibut fishing. We probably had 40 shakers I kid you not before I brought up the only keeper out of three of us. We had basically called it a day but decided on 5 more minutes. The shaker just prior had taken two baits and me and my bud pulled it in together. A quick rebait and I dropped back in the 10 feet of water and it got hit in like 10 seconds. It is very early in the season and I don’t know that the full moon helped.

27” inches and 6.5 pounds.

Shark of some kind on a cod fishing trip out of Morro Bay. It was a fun trip. The hands were both young ladies that can cook, clean a boat, launch and recover a 40 foot boat, gut / clean / filet fish, tie knots, gaff whatever, make bait, smoke, get some tats, etc.., AND HANDLE SHARKS!

It was fun.

The one holding the shark mostly out of the pic was
