Hey guys, anyone fish maple lake near Chicago ?   What's the best lures ? Etc

I know this is an old post, but here goes.

Maple Lake is a waste of time imo. It's heavily over-fished, and all you're likely to catch now is bullhead, carp and possibly hepatitis from hypodermic needles strewn about by the druggies.

Try Tampier or even Desplaines river. They're catching northern, large and smallmouth, walleye and nearly everything else in Desplaines. Just locate a remote spot where they're not elbow to elbow

Oh, it's true. In Lyons by Hoffman Tower/dam off Ogden Ave they're catching all variety of fish from bowfin to walleye. I was catching little snake northerns on plain-jane red + white Daredevil spoons and Mr Twisters.

Not sure where you're located, but message me, and we can meet up over there and I'll share my secret fishing spot where it's not elbow to elbow insanity.

I've fished the desplaines in lemont. Under the bridge.   Any better spots?
