Nice!
Depending one where you hook them it can be a pain sometimes.  Next time you put a bead on try it between the hook and bullet sinker, if you haven't already. That will give it a louder sound when dragging the bottom.

Because of the drought been fishing the delta in CA a lot. Last bass was on a hula popper. Also use Senkos and crankbaits depending on the tide/wind. If calm weather drop shot with Keeper worms works.

Good job! There's probably a lot more big fish around (close by) than you think.

There are but a few points to note:

1) I have no idea what I'm doing.  Only really started fishing a few months ago when my fiance' forced me to pick up a relaxing hobby.  In fact I thought yesterday was going to be a horrible fishing day(middle of a cold front, had rained the day before etc.) (which it actually was for panfish, only caught about 4-5 between the two of us, but the fiance' ended up landing 3 pike and I caught a couple bass).

2) The fishing around here really is that bad.  I am sure there are 5lb+ bass fishing around these waters but I'm basing what I'm saying off of my neighbor(and a host of other fishermen i know).  The guy is a die hard fisherman that only 'wastes (his) time' fishing around here if he's taking his boys out for a short day trip.

It is what it is...just makes catching nice size fish all that more exciting.  No such thing as a bad day of fishing.  My dad and I are building a little 13.5' wooden runabout.  Once I have something better than a canoe to fish in we're going to start taking some trips north and hitting up some better bass lakes.  I can't complain though, right now the biggest limiting factor of our bass catch numbers is my skill/knowledge level, not the lakes.

Ridiculous as it may sound I'm getting him mounted.  Wanted something to put on the wall to remember this fishing season by for a personal reasons.  Also the fiance has never seen a bass nearly that big.  She netted it for me and as she pulled it up she started yelling "Oh my god what the f*** is that!?"  When I went to pull it out of the net I said "Holy shit that's a nice bass!"  her: "Don't put your hand in it's mouth!  That's no f***ing bass!"

I want it mounted on a piece of driftwood with a sign underneath that says "This is no f***ing bass!"
