There exists an overwhelming volume of tripods on the market.  My price point is ~ $400, either carbon or aluminum.  I need something sturdy for backpacking into remote Alaska for hunting.  Any recommendations?  I see the Manfrotto and Bogen brands on Outdoorsmans.com.   Are they the best brands?

Good height and light.

The outdoorsmans made tripods are top notch as well.

I've been looking at these. The big thing for me is that 2 of the legs come off and can be used as walking sticks.
