We are looking for a tent for our hunting trip. It will be 3 guys, for a week long. We will be setting up the tent at a base camp that we can drive to. Also, we will be camping at about 8500'. so there is the chance of snow. So far we are looking at the Kodiak springbar 10'x10' or the 14'x10'. Of those 2 sizes, not sure what to get. Any other options out there? Don't want to spend more the $700 or so.

OP you didn't mention where you were going but assume in a western mountain state due to elevation. I would highly suggest heavy canvas (non nylon) tent with a WOOD stove. I use this set up in the Colorado mountains where I elk hunt as do many others. If you're not use to the mountain regions, know that weather can change in 2min from warm to blowing snow. To my knowledge, those tents do not have stove jacks and the reviews are not that great.
My current set up is a 16ft X 16ft mil tent with a stove jack and a good wood stove. The heavy duty frame will take a snow load and will not move that much in high winds. It also holds heat and doesn't sweat. We have ran it in -30 degree weather with 22 in of snow just fine. We never were cold.
I have used propane in the past for heat but it creates other issues like carbon dioxide and will eventually run out. If you get snowed in or the temps drop out, you will be hurting unless you stock piled quite a few tanks. If you have a cold spell, you will burn through a 20lbs tank rather quickly with a tent that large. With good old fashion wood, you will have plenty around to cut that is dead and can cut enough within a day or two. I'd rather drag a chainsaw along with an axe before taking up precious room with numerous propane tanks.. Wood stoves will also allow for drying out clothes, heating water, etc.
If you shop around early enough, you can find a tent like this for under $700. A decent stove can be had for $200 and will pay for itself through your first cold night.
