I am going armadillo hunting tonight and I have never been. How hard are their shells? Should I use .223, 7.62, or the buckshot?  If I use the shotgun I have an  Remington A5, so getting shots off will not be a problem. Any input on killing armadillos is appreciated :)

7.62 is overkill.  I hadn't thought of buckshot - that might be fun depending on the range.

I hate armadillos. I've kilt them with .22, .22WMR, .223, .243, .44MAG, 9mm, .270WIN, 12, Bow and Arrow, etc... and plenty others. They are easy to kill.

I keep #4 shot in my 870 just for Dillos, but I really like shooting them with pistols. Mainly 9mm from my Glock or .357 Magnum from my Ruger, more fun using a pistol. I have shot several with a .380. Usually whatever I have close. I don't usually go looking for them, they just come around the house too much.

I use whatever is available.  The Garand is a bit much though. Lol.

Silenced 22 is my favorite.

This is AR15.COM, not killarmadillo.com.

Try the outdoor section.

How do you hunt armadillo? I am from PA. The closest thing I have to an armadillo is a possum.

my wife seems to do pretty well with a 22lr browning buck mark when they get in her flower garden.

For all small critters, rabbits, skunks, possum, raccoons, and the aforementioned armadillo, a .22 is fine.  If you can get close and get a head shot a .22 short is plenty.

Heck, I've even seen the .22 CB recommended for the Chupacabra.

armadillos don't need more than a .22 LR.

Seriously? Whatever you feel like using. I killed one with a claw hammer once. They're like a possum or a coon. That shell's not kevlar.
