Are you sleeping outside or in a tent? If so bring 3-4 emergency space blankets. If you don't need them, it's GUARANTEED that one or more boys will! Wrap 'em around the outside of the sleeping bag. This kept me nice and warm when I needed them as a kid.

nice post!

I like the personal gear aspect....  I've got ALL gear spread out in the bedroom/hallway right now; prepping for hunt...wife is bristling about it.

gotta see the food/shelter and sleep system lashed up to Alice before I finalize my score  :)

I'm guessing they have elevated canvas tents/cots ?

I don't like bungies....I think they were invented KGB during cold war to injure americans by americans

Looks good. Thanks for posting pics of your gear. I bought a large ALICE yesterday and I like your idea of the small, slip out bags for the mag pockets.

Might want to flip the canteens over.  The mouth area doesn't freeze up as quick, when it's at the bottom.

Good luck.

I did this many years ago as a kid.  The scout master put down straw before the tents were set up.

My son's Weblo's group had
an Expedition Feb 7 & 8 in
Saluda SC.

I was afraid we would have
nasty weather, but it was in
the 60's during the warm part
of both days, only down to
35 or so that night with a
full moon, all night.

We were really lucky.

It's Zero here tonight &
last night...

Good Luck!

John

Looks like fun!  Hope you stay warm...  Interested to hear how that sleep system works.  I don't like to camp in anything below zero degrees.  Its just to darn cold. I am good down to 20 degrees, 10 makes it tough, and when it approaches zero that's when you really need the high speed low drag gear, or at least two sleeping bags for layering.

Meh.

They cancelled the camping due to the cold. It was -7 this morning. it's snowing now turning to rain...........so they cancelled tonights camping.

I've used the GI system in subzero cold before, I personally find the temp ratings optimistic but doable.

Bummer.  The colder it is the more bragging rights you have qw
