I have been doing a very poor job of keeping up with editing my videos this year.  It is October and I haven't made a rafting one yet.  Here is the first of 10-12 that I took footage of.  It is a popular run but not may pack rafters run it at over 500.  Owen and I ended up swimming while his girlfriend in her first packrafting run ever schooled us.  She was a top tier kayak years back and the youngest woman kayaker to run the North Fork of the Payette when she completed it at 14!

Enjoy!

What am I doing wrong that the video isn't showing?

That looks fun. Nicely done.

Why use pack rafts instead of a canoe or kayak?

I actually liked it.  I forgot that I have a pretty good sound system hooked up to my box.  The bass sounded real nice coming from the subwoofer.

There are few roads in AK so we do a lot of hike in float out (or vice versa) trip so packrafts work well  up here.

Was that a multi day trip?

How far was the hike in?

Are regular IK's too heavy?

No this was a road to road trip (3 hrs) but I have too many other toys to buy a kayak to use just on out road to road runs.
These packrafts are only 5 lbs so they are considerably lighter than an IK.

Here is a link to a three day multi portage hike that we did.
