I camped on page 3.
What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.

MSR Holler 3
Big Agnes Deerpark down bag
Exped Synmat Ultralight Long/Wide
Exped UL small inflatable pillow
Cocoon silk liner

Sleep system in the new UL Exped pumpsack with integrated schnozzle.

Can set up tent, blow up airmat and pillow, and be ready to sleep in 4 minutes.

I just wish I could find a lighter bag than is huge and has some way to make it impossible to roll off the pad like my BA bag.

We think alike. I've got the same tent, and same Exped pad (assuming you've got the 9, and not the 7). Awesome tent and best pad on the market.

For a sleeping bag, I've got a Western Mountaineering Alpinlite...and a fleece liner, although I've thought of going with silk. Lots of room and comfort with this set up!

I need a big ass portable hotel room for family trips, I just haven't bought it yet.....

I do have a truck bed tent from Enel, which totally kicks ass, by the way. That sucker has held up to some truly nasty weather (40mph winds, 1" hail, pouring rain).

SUMMER:
Tent: Tarptent Rainbow (33oz)
Pad: Exped Downmat 7 Short (27oz)
Bag: Montbell UL Down Hugger #3 +30F (800 Down - 20oz)

Big Agnes = Colorado company that makes awesome stuff
Osprey = Colorado company that makes awesome stuff
Tarp Tent = American company that makes awesome stuff
Montbell = Japanese company that makes great stuff, but I refuse to buy their stuff now because of their company policy of not supporting SAR

It depends. My name is Dante and I'm a gear freak

For 3-season backpacking, I have a Western Mountaineering Megalite sleeping bag, and several tents to choose from. For solo trips I have bivis and a Hennessy Hammock. For one or two people I use a Tarptent Squall. For two to three people, I use a Sierra Designs Lightning HT3. For the whole family, I lug the old Sierra Designs Mondo 5. I have an old Marmot Gore-Tex down bag for winter trips.

For car camping, I have a couple USGI sleep systems and a Big Agnes Double bag for the wife and me. If it's me and my buddies, I tarp it. If the family is car camping, we use the SD Mondo 5 mentioned above.

ETA Pads - Exped Downmat 9. Buy once, cry once! I bought one for me and one for the wife. I love them!

Depends on the trip.

We just got back from 6 days in the Palisades and took a Mountain Hardware PCT2 and a Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2. Both run right at the 4# mark. The PCT2 needs to be fully staked. Even though the Copper Spur is 'free standing', it needs to be staked for proper pitching too.

The PCT2 sheds wind really well from any direction.

The Copper Spur has easier entrance / exit and twice the vestibule space for packs and boots but has smaller interior space.

The Copper Spur was surprisingly camo for having orange panels in the trees / rocks - (behind the 3 fork tree).
Blue is the worst color – sticks out like a sore thumb in any conditions.
Sage green is the best overall tent color in the Sierra for blending in.
