I have used cord locks on my hunting boots with good success to keep laces snug and for easy on/easy off.

I do this exact thing as well, I meant to mention it.

I like to break my laces up into two sets per boot, its an old habit, first to help keep my ankle support as good as possible while still aloowing for an extended range of motion and allow allowing for the foot to naturally swell up a little after the first 30 minutes or so without excess cramping or uncomfortableness, something I find almost nobody pays any attention to and they should.

second cord locks just make things easier x100. para cord bites pretty hard by it self and cord locks just make it easier to get boots on and off.

Im a field tech for a major telco. I used to go thru laces every other month. 6 months ago, my laces broke on my boots again. i remembered i had some black standard paracord laying around and a light bulb lit up above my head. I laced up with the paracord at work, and have never looked back. The paracord laces look like new, work fantastically well, and i LOVE THEM. As others have said, you have to tie a double knot tighly, and the boots are snug on my feet all day long. The best part ks when it comes time to take the boots off. Because the paracord is kinda slippery against itself, i just tug on the knot, and it quickly comes undone.

I love it, i love it, i love it !
