USER INFORMATION HELP
1) HOW DO I BECOME A TEAM MEMBER?
Click on the top nav bar "ONLINE STORE" button and then go to membership section. Select the level membership you would like to join at and make payment. If you pay with a credit card online, your account will be upgraded instantly. Log out of the website and back in if you do not notice the effect. You can read more about team memberships if you click HERE!
2) HOW DO I ADD AN AVATAR?
To add an avatar, you must upgrade your account to Team Member status. (See #1 on upgrading.) To change your avatar, simply go into your profile. (Click on your name on the top left corner of the page, once you are logged in, or click on the edit profile button, also located on the top navigation bar.) You will notice all your profile information is accessible to be changed through a series of button bars along the left side of the page. At the bottom you will find your avatar and the "upload avatar" button. Click the link, point to the file you wish to use, and upload it. YOUR BROWSER MAY CACHE THE PREVIOUS AVATAR, so you may need to shift+reload the profile page to see the change.
3) HOW DO I ADD A SIGNATURE?
Adding a signature is similar to the avatar. You must have an upgraded Team Member account. You then go into your profile and click on the "EDIT USER INFO" button (right below your avatar and user information box). Keep in mind your signature is limited to text only and you can not use images, image links, or html.
4) HOW DO I ADD A CUSTOM USER TITLE?
Adding a custom title is identical to adding a signature. Just enter your new title in the "User Title" text box in the user info form.
1) HOW DO I DELETE A POST?
Users do not have the ability to delete a reply, but you may delete your own posts if they have no replies. This helps in cleaning out your dupes or double postings due to latency issues. If you want a thread deleted or trashed, you should report it and make the request. We do not DELETE anything when we can avoid it. We will edit or trash something in order to ensure data integrity within the site.
2) HOW DO I CREATE A POLL?
To create a poll you must first create your topic and post it. Then simply go into the thread and look for the "ADD POLL" button at the top of the thread page (right side) next to the thread title. Click the button, fill out the poll, and submit the form.
3) HOW DO I ADD A PHOTO?
Adding a photo requires the image to be hosted online somewhere. Once it's available via a URL, you can then add it to by using either the image button (in either editor) and adding the link to the form, or putting [img][/img] tags around the link to the image. Example: [img]http://myimage.com/myimagelink/myimage.jpg[/img]
4) HOW DO I ADD A LINK?
Links to other sites or even to your email address are simple to add to a post. Regardless of the editor you are using, look for the link, or email, button and click on it. When the window opens add the link title, only in the classic editor, then add the link. (For the WYSIWYG editor, to make a portion of text into a link, highlight the text, then click on the link icon and add the URL.) If you want to do it the old fashioned way, put [url=http://][/url] tags (or email tags) around the url. Example: [url]http://mypage.com/mypage.html[/url]
5) WHERE DO I POST XXXX QUESTIONS?
Ok so the XXXX stands for whatever subject you are looking for help with. The reason it's like that is that there are a large number of forums here and most likely there's one which is just waiting for your question. All it takes is a few minutes of looking around to find the perfect place to post and to ensure you will get quality answers. For example if you have a question about a handgun (generic or specific to a manufacturer or model) your best place to start is in our handgun forums. Look for the handgun link in the main menu bar and click on it. (The MAIN MENU BAR is located above the small advertisements and under the site name and large advertisement banner.) If your question is on a firearm or piece of equipment that does not fall in the main categories, then it's more than likely in the armory section. Any general discussions on laws, history, or any number of topics can be found in the general section.
FORUM TOOL HELP
1) HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE TO A THREAD?
Subscriptions are restricted for free accounts. You will not find the option outside of the technical forums. So if you are in the GENERAL section of the site, wondering why you can't find a way to subscribe, you now know. Otherwise, the subscription button will always be available within every topic, right next to the Reply and Forward buttons at the top and bottom of each thread page. (On the same bar as the topic title.) Team Members not only have no forum restrictions, but have a very high subscription limit and a few customization options in their profiles.
2) HOW DO I SEARCH?
The search tool is available on the forum tool navigation bar, below the advertising sections. Clicking on SEARCH allows you to enter the search tool. Free accounts are limited to searching within the technical areas and have limitations on search parameters. As a Team Member, the search is open and also includes an Archive Search. At this time the search for both the site and archives is being reworked to provide a wide variety of search and display options.
