Receiving the Grassroots Alert and "Freedom's Voice" provides pro-gun activists with the one-two punch they will need to increase their effectiveness as grassroots activists. Oh, and by the way, both publications are free! The Friday Grassroots Alert is the most timely and substantive report on activities affecting our gun rights at the national, state, and local levels, and alerts readers to gun-related issues percolating in the media or in the courts. By contrast, the monthly "Freedom's Voice" newsletter provides more practical tips for improving your personal level of grassroots activism. Contained in "Freedom's Voice" you will find strategies on how to effectively influence the outcome of gun-related legislation as well as how to work in your area to elect pro-gun candidates to office. In addition to the stories written by Grassroots staff, you'll find an "In The Spotlight" feature where we'll highlight a lawmaker for his or her meritorious defense of the Second Amendment, or a particular piece of legislation. Periodically, we will also run "The Activist's Corner," where we encourage "Freedom's Voice" readers to submit stories highlighting their own, personal activities. First, make sure you subscribe to "Freedom's Voice." You may either click HEREto fill out an NRA-ILA Volunteer Information Form indicating you wish to receive "Freedom's Voice," or call the Grassroots Division at (800) 392-VOTE (8683). Remember, as with the Friday Alert, "Freedom's Voice" is transmitted electronically and is free! Second, make sure your family, friends, and fellow defenders of the Second Amendment are receiving both the Grassroots Alert and "Freedom's Voice." While many of you probably forward these documents to your fellow freedom fighters (and should continue to do so), there is no substitute for like-minded gun activists receiving this information directly from NRA-ILA.
