I finally convinced my anti-gun BIL to let my niece attend an IDPA shoot this weekend, up until now all she has done is lane shooting at the local indoor range. She has taken the NRA safety course so she knows how not to be an idiot, moving and shooting may be another story all together.
Me & 5 other guys are SO's so I'm not too worried about anything going south, I do hope she has a blast.

Now if I can just get her to leave that stupid nose ring home.

It went South
She brought the boyfriend & neither one of them could keep their head in the game, didn't follow directions or listen to the SO,
It became a safety issue & the BF got DQ, at least the niece finished 6th ESP/UN

We will have a safety brief at the next shoot to bring up these issues, I feel like a complete failure.

Don't let the BF go next time.

Maybe you're more interested in her going than she is. Some people just don't get into it.

Actually she asked me 2 weeks prior if she could go, the BF was a last minute deal.
The BF was a drama queen as well, he should have never been there.

The niece took a NRA safety course so she knew better, the BF was a noob.
Needless to say all shoots will now be family only.
Anyone else will have to prove their skill set before hand, I'm not putting my name on the line again.

Sorry it went South.
Try not to take it too hard.
I have daughters coming up in age too.
I will remember this and tell them to leave the boyfriends at home (unless they prove their gun handling skills as you stated).

I'm over it now but I'm sure the issue will be brought up at the December shoot.
