Qs on Open Glocks, Optics
I am considering modifying a Glock for use in USPSA Open Division.
- What is the best optic mounting solution? I've seen a few polymer scope mounts, but these do not inspire confidence that they will hold zero.
- Will a scope mount still allow for a slide with iron sights to be used? (My reasoning being that I would like to able to use my .22lr conversion kit on both the Open frame and another frame)
- What are the consensus best optics for Open guns? I see a lot of C-Mores in use on 2011-platform guns - are these preferred over Aimpoints or other brands due to the weight savings, or some other reason? What about the Aimpoint Micro?

I like my C-more. I know of only one guy locally that uses a Aimpoint, but he is old school and does rather well well with it.
Glocks are new to the open market, may want to try over at Brian Enos in the Glock section.
I'm in the crowd that doesn't believe that slide mounted optics are better. I just know I can see my dot in full recoil (C-More) and so I can watch it in return from recoil and execute the next shot faster and more accurately with it being a frame mounted dot.
That said, IMHO, a C-More on a SJC scope mount is the way to go for an Open Glock.
