Hello,

I'm working on a new web-site for match director's to use to share/download course of fires designs for a multitude of different shooting sports. The idea is to cut down on the time it takes for a match director to throw together a match and to cut down on crummy designs that we endure when shooting. I have USPSA & IDPA covered with over 2,000 different courses of fire; but I really don't have anything for the other shooting sports for high power rifle and CMP . For those of you who are interested I would greatly appreciate your course designs. You can either mail them to me at cofadmin@cofexchange.com or go through the web-interface @ cofexchange.com on the site and submit them yourself.

Thanks,
Mike

There aren't "course designs". Everything is shot on a KD range. There are full and reduced-distance courses of fire that are standardized.

The NRA National Match Course is:

(1) 10 shots offhand with 2 sighting shots at 200 yards single loaded in 10 minutes.

(2) 10 shots rapid fire sitting with 2 sighters and a magazine change (loaded 2+8 for service rifle and 5+5 for match rifle) at 200 yards in 60s.

(3) 10 shots rapid fire prone with 2 sighters and a magazine change (loaded 2+8 for service rifle and 5+5 for match rifle) at 300 yards in 70s.

(4) 20 shots prone single-loaded at 600 yards with 2 sighters in 20 minutes.

Sighting shots are all single-loaded over a period of 2 minutes at each phase.

The NRA Regional Course adds an additional 10 rounds to offhand with an additional 10 minutes and 2 additional rapid stages.

CMP Excellence in Competition Matches (except the President's 100) shoot the NRA NMC with no sighters allowed.

CMP Games use the same positions, but vary the round count and are only at 200 yards.

Well written jcs1.

Thats about a short and sweet as I have ever seen it put down.

If we added the description of the required target designation with each step it would replace many other versions.

As a beginner, I had to search for exactly what was going to happen and what I was supposed to be shooting at.
I didn't want to show up completely unprepared. This is a nice outline.

After a training session and a XC match, you can follow along easily.

Thanks.

Sir, just to clarify a point in your post: DCM (Director of Civilian Marksmanship) was the name of the organization paid for as part of the defense budget to administer civilian marksmanship programs until it was decided to form an independent corporation and call it the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program). Many people use the terms interchangeably but the CMP replaced the DCM and no longer has any financial ties to the US military AFAIK. 7zero1 out.
