I have an 18" Police Magnum that I want to set up for 3 gun . Can you guys suggest I killer barrel upgrade to slay targets ? Also looking at the Nordic Components Mag extension as well . Any information is greatly appreciated.

If you are going to shoot Heavy Metal and are stuck on your 870, the 21" vent rib w/ remchokes is the best barrel. A +4 Nordic extension will be about 1/2" longer, which is nice to keep your muzzle out of the crap that ends up in abandonment barrels.
If you are going to shoot anything other than HM, I would recommend putting the $200 dollars toward an autoloader instead of a new barrel. I used the 870 for about a year and a half in HM before I found the Nova. While the 870 is a fine shotgun, it's not efficient for 3 gun.

Thanks for the info –– oh believe me, if I had better choices I would go semi but I'm restricted to 6 rounds max in NJ. The pump is unlimited round count.

Wow, that might be the dumbest legislation I have ever heard of.

My 2c after shooting an 870 for a while in 3 gun is to get a different shotgun, even if you are restricted to pump. There are guys out there who can run 870s fast, but they are doing so despite the gun.
As said, the 870 is a fine, durable, smooth pumping gun, but there are much better options out there for a shotgun that will be loaded and run fast. The 870 has a poor safety position, short/narrow loading port, and the tilting bolt does not give you the extractive power rotary bolts will when you are running with a hot chamber and/or low brass shells.
I got to play with a Supernova a while back, and I could see it being a great 3 gun HM shotgun. Smooth pump stroke, rotary bolt, massive loading port with a lifter that stayed up. I don't think you will find a faster loading tube fed shotgun.

Its funny that you mentioned the Benelli –– just watched a video posted by Rob from Noveske Shooting Team . He demonstrated the SuperNova's attributes and it made me look at pricing one out.
Thanks for the reply.

The loading port on those is like a funnel. The 'magazine disconnect' is also a thoughtful addition.
