 Max rds in a shotgun

Just got finished reading the 2010 Benning Rules. So Max 8 rds in the tube for shotgun. Does this mean I have to take my +5 mag extention and replace it with a +3 or just only load 8rds in my +5 extention only.

Are coupled AR mag allowed in USPSA 3-gun or do you have to use single mags only.

Just plug it. plastic or wodden dowel will work just fine.

USPSA 3-gun has no magazine size restriction (heavy metal being 20 rounds max iirc). You can couple magazines all day. I'd just look for a 48 rounder Lancer or Nordic for Pmags.
I use a Beta-C, Lancer 48, and a DPMS 44. Why couple when u can use a longer mag?

For any stage with targets at distance where you can/have to lay prone. A coupled mag (for me anyway), primarily serves as a monopod.

Thats why I have the DPMS 45 round mag.

The purpose of the clinched mags for distance is not for the ammo. It is because it is a wider base and makes it more stable when you monopod off the mag. The extended capaacity mags dont do this

And that is the reason I use a couple mag. Mono pod and a dam fast reload. I am going to get a plug for my shot gun tube however anyone got the answer to with a +5 extention only loading 8 rds in it or does it have to be 8 rds as a max capacity only.

Make sure you remember to read the rules for every match you go to.

Many matches are Outlaw rules matches, and the max round count in your gun is different, one place I shoot has a 7+1 rule, another 8+1 and yet another says 9 in the gun. putting a plug in for a match will keep you from getting bummped in to an Open class.

Mag couplers are a great tool! only one match I know of will not allow you to use them, that Match being the RM3G. I guess at some point someone gamed it to the point of making a mag mono pod!! that was more of a tripod, it was unfair to the Tac shooters.

The RM3G match is my big match for the year! gota love it!

I am a production guy all the way Hope no Open Class for me yet. That why I asked that question. I bought a 3 ft 5/8 dowel today at Lowes. I guess that will be wide enough to no bind the spring. Going to cut it so it plugs the tube so 8rd will only fit. Anything I need to keep in mind before I cut it.

cut it long. test it by loading the rounds in, shorten it up as needed, untill you can get the #### or shells in the tube,, you might want to give yourself a little extra room in the tube,, and take an extra .5 inch off so you can load the last shell and not have to fight it in to the mag tube.

then round the ends front and back, so it will not bind on the mag spring.

places that have a 7+1 rule, most times I just never load more than that in the gun. I don't cheat, if I don't try to or make a mistake and load more than that amount in the gun.

If I loaded more in the gun say 9+1 by accident, I would just say oooopppps and if they bump me up to Open,, SO what, you still get to play the game and have fun.

It is all good.

I just went the plug root. Cut and shaped one for 7,8,9. No big deal. I am going to my first 3-gun event this weekend and have some fun.
