Best belt for 3 gun.
deciding on a belt. I have been using a cheap nylon type to get by with using it for shell caddies only.
I'm looking at the Bianchi 7202, CR speed belt, and Safariland competition.
Im inclined towards the Bianchi. The bianchi is 1.75 in. Any experience any suggestions?
I use tec-lock type and black hawk mag holders, and also California comp work caddies
Thanks
I'm a huge fan of CR Speed belts. I have 4 of them, one for 3 gun, one for open, one for production, and one for single stack.
CR Speed or Double Alpha.
eta add a few inches to your belt from your waist measurment.
Just ordered a Jones Tactical Fat Zombie duty belt.
Another vote for CR Speed. In 3-gun, you'll be carrying a lot stuff on your belt (holster, pistol mags, rifle mag(s), and shotshell caddies - you want your belt to be as stiff as possible to support all that weight. CR Speed is exceptionally stiff - I understand the DAA belt is also very stiff.

+1 on cr speed. In shooting belts, stiffness is what your after.
I have a nice Blackhawk, but after 6 months of seeing how easy the CR speeds are to deal with. i will be getting a CR speed soon.
I am constantly switching stuff around. I have not yet found the set up that works for me.
Currently using Wilderness instructor belts. I had 2-3 of them already.
I have even tried taking two belts to the match set up differently. One for pistol/rifle stages and one for pistol shotgun.
Still experimenting though. I can see going with a velcro system inner belt like the CR or Bianchi once I get where I want to be.
+2 on the CR speed belt. I've been using one for our local 3 gun matches and it's been great. Easy to change up for different stages and plenty stiff.
I use a CR speed with Blade Tech Tek loks on all the add on items. It is nice being able to change your belt for each stage in a matter of minutes.
I switched from CR Speed to the Safariland ELS. All of my equipment now has the ELS clips and I can reconfigure in seconds.
I wll be using it in my first match on Sat.
+1
The ELS is the heat for 3 gun.

I have been looking for a replacement belt, and had pretty much decided on the
DAA. When I saw the ELS, I thought it was spendy (still needs inner belt and adapters). Why not a CR or DAA and Tek-lok?
Lee
CR speed......
IS the ELS as Stiff as a CR Speed?
I know my leather and nylon Safariland belts are wet noodles compared to my cr speed belts.
Another Safariland ELS fan here.
I have both the DAA and CR Speed and it is NOW ELS!
Patrick
If you're starting from scratch, get the Safariland ELS system.

Lots of ELS love here, but no one knows why. I guess love is that way - it transcends explanation.
I cannot speak for the OP, but I am replacing a belt and a couple of holsters which are truly worn out. I plan to move the mag holders and shell trays to the new belt, whatever it is.

So I take it the ELS belt is as stiff as the existing older Safariland product?
Jones Tactical makes a competition belt. Does anyone know if it is as stiff as the CR or DAA? Thought I might give it a try out since it is priced about $40. I emailed JT and he let me know he could make one. Comes with inner belt.
Never saw one being used.
i would say no, based on his materials.
My ELS is more than sturdy enough and that is when loaded w/ a pistol, 24 rounds of 12 gauge, 3 pistol mags and 2 AR mags.
The beauty of the ELS is the speed at which you can reconfigure your setup depending on the stage. Plus I find Safariland mag pouches and holsters to be superior to all others.
I can go from USPSA Limited pistol to outlaw 3 gunner in about one minute with the same belt.
And with how fast Kelly shoots, he actually does, LOL!

What's the best source for the Safariland ELS system gear?
Eh, never mind. I'm going with the CR Speed Belt.

I run an ancient Safariland inner/outer belt combo. I leave pretty much everything in place whether I am shooting IMA 3-gun or USPSA Production. The only changes I make are to remove the AR15 mag pouch and replace it with a dual pistol pouch - in this case, I run the Blade-Tech Tek-Lok system that is super-quick to change out and very reasonably priced.
Quick question for you guys using the CR Speed Belt.
Some dealers say to order a belt 2" larger than your waist size, others don't. From what I'm reading there's 9" of overlap on the belt as well. I have a 33" waist. Would I be better off ordering a 34" or 36" belt?
36, your not getting any thinner.
the belt overlaps on your back side, so it is better to have a few extra inches than not enough.

Hey, hey - I thought we were all friends here.
Thanks, I'll go with the 36.
