I am located in the DFW area and I have been trying to find a location that I can actually train at instead of just sitting around on the bench firing at 50 or 100 yards. If anyone has any info on a good facility in the area I would greatly appreciate the help. THANKS

TJ Pilling with Tiger Valley is a real good dude. I went there as a student several years ago then starting doing a little adjunt instructor work for them. Unfortunatley I live to far away to get out there in the last few years. They got a range in Waco and the DFW area now. Good training, good folks. Never been to Tac Pro but I hear good things.

Check out VX Marksmanship. Dan is a former recon scout sniper and has classes for AR, pistol, and long range shooting. He owns a 450yd private training facility in Alvarado and has access to longer ranges for those interested in true long range shooting. I have personally taken 7 or 8 different classes from him. What works best for me is while he has some hard dates set for classes, he can accomodate individuals or groups almost anyday of the week. His classes are very fluid so if the class is progressing well he can push the curriculum to allow some time for more advanced drills. Top notch guy you won't be disappointed!

If you know where Elm Fork range is Tiger Valley has night classes there for around 60 bucks a class. Carbine, Handgun, "tactical" first aid, stuff like that.

There's also a few training facilities in the DFW area. Go check out Texas Gun Talk, they have a training section and a lot of the folks who run or work at the schools are on there. I ran into a guy at an IDPA match that instructs in the local area.

+1 on the Tiger Valley at Elm Fork classes. I've been to several, and for the money, they're one of the best deals going around.

Some of the folks I've met at the classes also attend the Texas Combat Shooters matches (also held at Elm Fork) held every Thursday, either pistol or rifle. I'm on their email list but haven't attended any shoots; I know they have the occasional training class as well.

Thanks! I've not heard of Dan and VX Marksmanship before; I'll definitely have to check it out. Here's the website:

NTX is full of places to take training, and places to practice what you learned.

Check out TX/HTF for more leads. Be more specific in what you want (precision rifle, handgun, etc).
