Snowed in, can't get to the range....what do you do for training at home?

Maybe you can do some ready-up drills, or find a good book on tactics to read.

Don't laugh at me, but...

I'm building an airsoft target trap (that uses a thick, putty-like material to trap the BBs) for use in my basement.

luckily I have my own Range on my Property and thus not really a problem.

Did you get so much snow. I have about 6 inches now not that much that a 4X4 could not handle.

I guess if you really want to set something up in the Basement. I have read that people use Airsoft Pistols and such to do this. I have no experience with this but I am sure other do

I play with an airsoft in the living room. I stretched an old t-shirt over a frame made of leftover pine 1x1s and put that inside a large paper grocery bag with another bag slid over all that. It works great for about 200-300 rounds at which rounds bounce back out the front because the paper bags are too shot out. Replace bags and you're good to go.

Me and my grand son do force on force training with "nerf" guns down in my bunker.

As you can see grandpa kicked ass.

Dryfire, PT, a practical martial art & airsoft are all good options.

You can set up multiple targets & dry run transitioning between them, draws, reloads, malfunctions, pure trigger control, moving, etc.

Most of us will face a life threatening situation from poor lifestyle choices long before we face one from a crackhead, terrorist or spree shooter. If you can't go to the range you might as well do something for your health.

Again, the chances of having to go hands-on with someone are greater than having to shoot them. Find something useful & train it.

Run your favorite range drills with airsoft. Or, better yet, run some drills you can't do on the range. Park the car in the garage (or somewhere private) & work out carjacking scenarios. Same thing for home invasion scenarios.

Bitch, moan, complain, gripe, and if it has been far too long, cry. But that's kind of a last resort, and done in a manly sort of way.

Build several and put them around your house. Clear house. Or just get one and work on acquiring your front sight faster and getting solid fast hits.

I think it's an excellent training aid.
