I found these on another forum. They have stirred quite a bit of debate and I'd like you guys to take a look and let me know what you see. Thanks

These people are training for their own deaths.

What the hell did I just watch?

Is this what it looks like when liberals take up the shooting sports?

Let's see if I can gather the words.....

Range safety seems to be nonexistant. And as far as the tactics? Well at least they're practicing something

I find the second video to be the most interesting to say the least. I'm not sure I see a purpose to this drill. Moving and shooting is a good thing. In the most controlled manner possible - i.e., if you fall the fuck over and shoot yourself in the process you're not going to win any gun battles.

You should only move as fast as you can place accurate hits on target. And typically the goal is to move away from the threat and towards cover/concealment.

I tend to agree with both you guys but I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me

some of my brain just shot out of my ear.

that drill, while im sure its fun, does nothing to hone skill. its more dangerous than useful.

Shooting on the move at moving targets is indeed a good skill to have...

...but I saw very little skill presented in the video. People were just doing....whatever...and were very nonchalantly sweeping each other with muzzles.

I see very little training benefit in what was presented...plenty of opportunities for disaster, though. If I were at a course and saw this sort of thing going down, I'd pack my shit up and leave.

I concur. All the video and images came from an AAR on another board. One of the MODs on that board pointed out their lack of safety and the thread erupted into a shitstorm of butthurtedness.

wow, all I can say is wow. Very unsafe training. I am not going to critique the "tactical" aspect at all. I would just stop at the safety issue, pack my bags and leave that course. I hope it wasn't an open enrollment course, but by the looks of the individuals of the course it was.

Wow, all that was missing was an instructor sitting next to the targets and that center-axis-relock crap. Those are the only two things that could have made those videos any worse.

The fact that no one there seemed to have a problem with any of that is just...

Holy shit so a fat guy running awkwardly sideways through a field mag dumping at a bad guy target on a moving clothesline is "tactical" training.

Looks to me like some folks had instructor-itis....when people have just enough knowledge to be dangerous and take it upon themselves to "instruct" others without first having a firm grasp of what they are doing and everything entailed in managing a range.

There's more to it than just watching people shoot.

I agree. It seems as though this "instructor" just pulled some drills out of his ass and ran the students through them not caring about how they performed. Scan and asses and use of sights seemed nonexistent. People tripping over thier own feet. Some didn't even appear to know how to work thier safety to fire. I really liked that right after the drill was finished they went to speed holster while turning up range and flaging the others. Shooting one handed for no reason? Maybe these things were addressed and not shown in the video but I highly doubt it since it seems to continue in all the vids.

Instructing is hard if you care about the people you are teaching and what they learn. I suppose it's easy if you don't care about your students or your reputation, I wouldn't know.

Prime example of what NOT to do!! No handling safety, no use of sights, no trigger control, no "instructor" corrections. If people paid for this, they got suckered! I have gone out with friends and made up stuff on the spot but we ALWAYS practiced safe handling. And what is with all the super close shooting? maybe a couple of drills but ALL of them?!! what a false sense of confidence.
