My buddy has a lake house up there north of Dunham's Bay...I know Dunham's Bay has a range which we pass frequently on the way to town; it appears they aren't open to the public...is there any place up there that will allow me to pay a fee and bring a few friends to shoot rifles while we are up at the lake house?

pretty much all the ranges up that way are members only. If your going to be up there for a while it might be worth seeing what they charge for a membership. Several clubs out my way only charge 30-45 per year.

Most clubs will have open trap and skeet though. These are usually open to the public, A lot of clubs shut down for winter but they are opening up now. Grab your shutgun and go. Introduce yourself. Have fun. I bet you can get the use of rifle range here and there and maybe get a membership and your're gtg.

The Dunhams Bay Fish and Game Club is private. I recommend joining and supporting them the few times a year you come up for a visit. Obviously, they are open year-round so if you come up for snowmobiling or skiing, you could shoot then as well. It's really peanuts relative to the taxes on your camp / lake house... Not a single dollar of which ends up back at the club. Come to think of it, I'm not sure where any of it goes.... Maybe Thursday night fireworks.
