I really cant stand it..

I have been looking on the EE for some pre bans lately and it pisses me off that when I get home somebody from a non ban state sweeps in to take the good pre ban deals..not one good deal but two...spineless people they are

you cant stand who gets it i cant stand the damn prices i mean 700+ dollars for a damn lower its insane and the worst part is people will pay it.

Im just saying tho..the man just spent $450+ on pre ban mags when he lives in a NON BAN STATE..It just sucks...

Yeah I noticed that. I just looked at this guy. I have a feeling he does gun shows in ban states or re-sells them on gun broker or something.

ETA: what are you going to do. I buy preban mags all the time, shit I had over 100 brand new in box/new in wrap preban mags both Colt and Sanchez.

I gave up on the whole preban thing. I have a lmt, spikes, and 2 noveskes in postban and could not be happier.

I don't get the whole preban thing, is it that important to you to have features you probably will never use? I have no use for a bayoney lug, floding stocks are great if your doing forced entry and need a compact weapon, but if that the case your either military or leo and have it any way, flash hiders, I prefer brakes. I'll get a preban when they are the same price as any other lower.

On a hunting AR I find the adjustable stock to be a very useful feature in that you can adjust length of pull to match layers of clothing. I also find muzzle brakes less than ideal when firing a rifle without ear protection when hunting. I could care less about bayonet lugs though. I would gladly trade bayonet lugs for the ability to have sound suppessors.

No one has cornered the market on preban mags so why sweat it? I'll save my ire for the liberal dolts who run this FUBAR'd state and perpetuate the stupid gun laws while nearly every other state in the nation is FREE.

If you live upstate (not Kingston, the real Upstate) and shoot all year long you'd recognize the value in the adjustable ("collapsing") stock.

I live in Buffalo, I can live with out the collapsable stock, I have for years. And its definatly not worth $350, not to me.

exactly..I don't know why everyone is talking about lowers..Pre Ban lowers are a waste for me..mags on the other hand are a different story.

It also doesn't help that stores in NY charge outrageous prices for preban mags too. A guy I know, new to AR's, went and bought 3 preban mags for 70$.....each. He didn't know if that was expensive or not and didn't bring one of his more knowledgeable friends with him. Just keep searching though; you'll find enough preban mags for yourself.

$70 each for preban mags is just the kind of price gouging from a LGS that drives me to buy online. No sympathy at all for a shop that rapes customers like that...fuck 'em!

Ive bought 100 or so pre ban mags off of the E&E. Not hard to find. You can get all you want for the price of new pmags. Go to the WTT section and look at the pre ban mag topic. Brothers in free states will trade for same numbers of new pmags. What is there to complain about.

I guess the point he is making is that BG1 obviously not someone who lives in a Ban state is buying a good portion of the dated preban mags and one can only assume he is flipping them for profit. While I am all for capitalism I think people who live in ban states should get first dibs on this stuff.

With that being said I am set in the mag department. I often buy mags in bulk and sell them when I want to make a big purchase on something or need to raise money. However when I sell them I either break even or put a little money in my pocket.

Surf the sales you will find good ones.

I just got a bunch of preban 20s for 11 bucks a pop shipped. Its the same guy I bought a preban lower from for 300 a few years back.

I have tried this in the past on another forum...problem was that not too many companies will sell a NYer mags even if they are going out of state. they probably think that you have a relative or friend who will just ship them back here.

I buy my pre-ban mags in PA most of the time, my wifes family is from western PA and pre-ban mags are usually in the used USGI surplus box for $12-$20...but you have to know what your looking at,they don't seperate the new used from the old used! I tend to stay with manufactures that only made mags in the 70's or 80's.

1blackgun sells the preban mags he finds on the EE here on Gunbroker for 20 and up (not hard to find him on there different name tho). Yea it sucks, there have been numerous topics on him and nothing we could do about it. I try and search the EE daily and if I find mags at a good price you need to pull the trigger and buy them quick. IMHO he's a douche but that's life.....
The only thing I can say about him is that he should at least have to pay for a dealer account since he just buys everything here and sells it on other sites. Him and the JP Douche from CT that buys all the preban lowers except Colt. Again beating a dead horse, just need to look quicker than them if you really want something, can't get pissed about it. My 2cents.

Correct, I meant to mention that. On another level though, I wonder if some sellers wouldn't be interested in selling to a dealer if they were up front about their identity. Some people obviously want the payout on a pre-ban, which is fine, but some people put these items on the market with the intention of helping out a ban state resident. That's how I got mine. I think those guys would be pissed if they found out I was a dealer just making money off of someone in need.

There are way more than a few "dealers" on this board and I seriously doubt the majority are FFL's/dealers. There's a boatload of resellers, paying and non paying.

I already got a deal going with a dated mag..that is the best deal going..its good to see that there people on here just trying to help out a little and not trying to make a big come up on 20+ year old mags..

I know this is going to sound crazy but, you need to buy all you can. There are no more being made, only so many left. I only have 102 mags now always looking for more when the funds come available.

I myself have purchased pre-ban mags at a premium price.. when I was younger, desperate, and naive. However, supply dictates market price. Back then the price of a pre-ban mag was significantly higher than the price of training. In situations that "most" of us "civilians" would face in NYS, (hunting, target shooting, etc..) If you can't do it in 10+1 in your AR, an unlimited amount of rounds in your PG pump shotgun and in a last ditch effort, 10+1 in your semi-auto pistol, then you ain't gonna do it! Don't get me wrong, it is an unlimited "cool" factor to have more pre-ban mags and ammo in your safe than the high-speed/low drag operator is supplied in the US Military. However, if SHTF, there will be plenty of pre-ban,suppressed, full auto, NFA, DD, nuclear, tactical, stealth, invisible, infrared, etc. weapons to be had on the second day....In addition, I would fear 1 round left in an AR more than a knife affixed to the end of it. MHO,YMMV.
