Looking for FFL and Good Mexican Food -- Rockwall, TX (or nearby)
Good Morning All,
I'm from Arizona, but moved here at the end of September last year for work. I'm slowly getting acclimated but am still looking for a few things.
I need an FFL (with a decent price for transfers). On my way back home from the gun show at the Big Town this past weekend, I stopped by B&S Guns and they have a nice store, but I was told they charge $45 for transfers.

The FFL I used to go to in AZ charged $20 for the first an $10 for each additional in the same visit –– i.e. $50 for 4 transfers, rather than $20 a piece. Does anyone have a place they use with a decent price? I don't mind a bit of a drive, as long as it's not an hour or two away; looking for some place decently close.
Also, I've got a hankering for some good mexican food. Back in AZ, we have places like Mayacos, Arribas, etc. But out here, at least nearby, we only have some fast food type stuff and On the Border. The OtB place is decent, but it's just not what I'm looking for; the chips suck, the rice has corn in it, and they don't have some simple shredded beef tacos –– they're chicken fajitas are pretty good though. Anyone have any good restaurants they'd like to share?
I'm starting to like Texas. I don't have any plans on moving back to AZ; TX is my new home. I'm liking the idea of hog hunting without the need for a permit. I've never been hunting before (parents weren't really gun folk, but my dad gave me my first intro to guns w/ a 22 semi and a 20g shotgun). But I really want to get a couple of hogs and work up to deer. I'm slowly building up the courage to find a place that will guide me on a hunt for some hog or just some like minded folks that wouldn't mind teaching a newbie what to do and how to do it. But in the mean time, I'm going to work at getting into shape and improve my arsenal a bit.
Thanks for the help folks!
Don't know about an FFL, but Gloria's and Luna de Noche at The Harbor in Rockwall are both very good.
Ident Marking Services, 2007-B Industrial Blvd, Rockwall, TX
they can point you to good restaurants nearby
El Portrillo De La Sandia in the aforementioned harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard
has decent Mexican food.
For the FFL, see Mickey at Ammo Depot, about 20 minutes further east out
here in Caddo Mills. Good People - In fact, I am renewing my CHL there on
Saturday.

They're called Dallas Shooting Supplies.

Mickeys is good, good guy, good to deal with. My FIL deals with him soley for transfers.
Glorias on the harbor has good food. We're in Rowlett, we spend all of our money in Rockwall usually for shopping and dining out. If you want a nice evening with your wife or SO, check out Allure. That's our usual date night place, they've got great food, and a great bar, and great views of the lake during sunsets.

Yeah, I forgot about the generic license, I was mainly talking about the hunting tags for game animals. Apparently, I need to learn the correct terminology; just one more item for the list of things I need to learn before I get to hunting.
Thanks so much for all the replies folks. I'll take a look when I'm at home this evening and check things out.
Keep the restaurants coming, if there's more.
The deck at Snuffer's is good if you want to sit outside and catch the view. Kind of noisy with the I30 traffic. In Rockwall we have a secret restaurant named Luigi's, off of 205 across from Lakeside Chevrolet. Don't go there , it won't be a secret. If you do happen by, the canneloni in the cream sauce is just great.

Val from Luigi's has opened up his own place in Rowlett, Valentino's...on 66 just west of the Super Target.
Oh and for the love of god, do not go to Tattiano's, the food is "meh" at best and the LED blue lighting will kill your eyes. L. Trevino's used to be a pretty good spot, but sadly the crowds have been going elsewhere and the food quality has gone downhill with the owner's trying to save money. Chiloso is a burrito joint, pretty good compared to Chipoltle and cleaner than Freebirds.
