Are there any FFLs in/near downtown Houston? I've looked through all of the FFL listings and such and just can't seem to find anything nearby. Does anyone know of any?

I use Martini Hardware on Lawndale just a few miles south of downtown. Les Martini charges $10 for a transfer, I think. It might be more for the first one. Very easy to deal with. They have been around since the time when you bought your guns at the hardware store!

I used Bruce Bain for several transfers, but a month or two ago I called him and he was putting the FFL business on hold temporarily. He has also moved from the montrose address to a new office on Memorial Drive which was even closer to downtown.

Since B. Bain wasnt available, I had e-mailed Guns of August, received a positive response that they would conduct the transfer and then completed a gunbroker transaction thinking I had a FFL set up. I sent the funds to the seller and the info to Guns of August. They never responded to my e-mail or phone calls and left me looking like an idiot with the seller while I scrambled to find another FFL

Thats when I started using Martini Hardware. The location is fairly close to Downtown, very easy to work with, and low transfer fee.

The rifle I had transferred was a CETME with mags and bayonet. When I went in to do the paperwork, the only problem he had with the evil assault wepon was finding the way to lock the bolt open so he could be sure he wasnt handing me a loaded rifle.

I plan to continue to use Martini Hardware.
